LOCATION: This position supports our 24/7 after-hours team. The position is fully remote, but you must live within one hour of an Anthem office.

HOURS: Mon/Thu/Fri 4:00 pm

  • 11:30 pm. Sat/Sun 12:00 pm

  • 9:30 pm. Off days are Tue/Wed. There is a shift differential for applicable hours.

(Note: training for this position will be up to 3 weeks in length and conducted via normal business hours, approx 8:00 am

  • 4:30 pm, M-F.)

The EAP Consultant I is responsible for providing 24/7 Behavioral Health and Employee Assistance services to millions of our members.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Supports Employee Assistance Program (EAP) service department by responding to initial customer contacts and request for services

  • Receives client requests, assesses the situation, determines appropriate course of action.

  • Provides telephone crisis intervention, assessment, short-term problem resolution, and referral to appropriate provider(s).

  • Manages Critical Incident Stress Debriefing requests.

  • Assesses members and assists them in accessing behavioral healthcare benefits available under their health plan.

  • Applies specialized knowledge in substance abuse, domestic abuse, grief counseling, workplace problems, and management consultation.

  • Provides employer consultation to supervisors, managers, and Human Resources of the EAP contracted organization.

  • Manages shared mailbox that is used by clients and external vendors to forward information that must be reviewed and placed in the documentation system.

  • Provides advanced consultation to designated client representatives.

  • Integrates callers with appropriate EAP services and referrals for the most complex cases.

Qualifications

  • Requires a current active unrestricted LPC (as allowed by applicable state laws), LCSW, LMSW, LMHC, LMFT, or RN license from the state in which you reside.

  • Requires 3 years of clinical experience in social work, counseling with a broad range of experience with complex psychiatric and substance abuse, or substance abuse disorder treatment.

  • Previous EAP or Call Center experience highly preferred.

  • Bilingual skills are very helpful.

  • Requires computer literacy and the ability to key and enter information while speaking with our members.

  • As this position is remote, you must be able to set up your own company-issued computer and do minor troubleshooting if occasional issues arise.

  • High-speed internet is required, along with a quiet and private working space free from distractions.

  • You are required to reside within one hour of an Anthem office.

Monitor quality of care, assist with discharge planning. Work with Foster Care Members, Medical Consenters, Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) staff and providers to meet the behavioral healthcare needs of each foster care member's condition. Identify foster care members who may benefit from service management, conduct an assessment and develop, implement and monitor a healthcare service plan. Provide information to DFPS staff to facilitate development of the DFPS case plan. Update database regularly with most recent Service Management Plan of Care. Review information submitted by providers into the database to ensure material is appropriate and consistent with guidelines for data inclusion. Encourage behavioral health providers to use evidence-based practices and confirm that behavioral health providers and PCP's are sharing information as required. Comply with established referral, pre-certification and authorization policies, procedures and processes by related medical management staff. Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations and contractual agreements. Coordinate service management functions with other departmental functions. Monitor data to address trends or potential quality improvement opportunities. Maintain HIPAA compliance. Education/Experience: Master's degree in Behavioral Health. 3 years of case and/or utilization management experience. Experience in psychiatric health care settings, child behavioral health conditions and members with special needs. Working knowledge of utilization review procedures, and familiarity with mental health community resources. Thorough knowledge of a specialized or technical field such as clinical nursing, case and/or utilization management involving knowledge plus the application of basic theory. Previous experience as a lead in a functional area, managing cross functional teams on large scale projects or supervisory experience including hiring, training, assigning work and managing the performance of staff. Foster care experience strongly preferred. License/Certification: Unrestricted license as a LCSW, LMFT, LMHC, LPC, PhD, PsyD or RN. For Superior Health Only: Education/Experience: No previous experience with Foster care, child behavioral health conditions, or members with special needs. Previous experience acting as a lead in a functional area, managing cross functional teams on a large scale project, or supervisory experience including hiring, training, assigning work and managing the performance of staff, preferred but not required.
