BASIC FUNCTION:

This position is responsible for responsible for providing support to members and physicians on case management or outpatient services including responding to inquiries, conducting outbound calls, scheduling appointments, conducting research, performing data entry, resolving problems by working across departments, and supporting the behavioral health case management and outpatient clinicians.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • 1 year of college and 2 years experience with automated systems OR 3 years experience with automated systems.

  • 1 year experience with managed care system(s).

  • Experience coordinating member needs, providing assistance to members, and analyzing member needs.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology.

  • Database experience or PC applications experience.

  • Customer service skills.

  • Verbal and written communications skills including interpersonal skills to assist members and coordinate care with physician offices, developing written correspondence to members and to other department personnel, and to support departmental personnel and functions.

BASIC FUNCTION: This position is responsible supervising staff handling the appeals process for behavioral health provider and member appeals activity, including ensuring appeals are meeting quality standards and regulatory mandates, accreditation standards and departmental policies and procedures. Develop appeals policies, procedures, standards, metrics, and reporting for the Behavioral Health Appeals department. JOB REQUIREMENTS: * Registered Nurse (RN) or Masters-level Behavioral Health Professional with current license in good standings (independent practice license if BH Professional) in the state of operations. * 3 years with behavioral health claims or appeals. * Knowledge of state and federal utilization review and appeal regulations, national accreditation standards including NCQA, URAC, and Department of Insurance. * Leadership skills. * Analytical skills. * Report creation experience. * Experience working across departments to resolve issues. * Verbal and written communication skills to oversee and motivate employees, interface across the division or across the enterprise, and represent the company to members and physicians. * PC experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office and healthcare databases.
