Position Purpose: Handle inbound and outbound member and provider calls on a clinical phone queue.

Ensure members receive behavioral health services appropriate to clinical need. Triage crisis calls to assist with stabilization and access to emergency evaluation. Coordinate services with other departments, such as medical case/care management. Perform utilization management functions, including authorization determinations and care shaping.

Handle member calls, performing activities such as telephonic clinical assessment, determining appropriate level of care and services and answering benefit questions.

Perform utilization review functions with behavioral health providers, including care shaping and authorization determinations.

Responsible for utilization management activities with providers and/or member calls, depending on team.

Triage crisis calls, providing in-the-moment support and assisting with access to emergency services.

Use established protocols, as well as clinical judgment, to evaluate and problem solve during interactions with members and providers.

Document all calls and activities within a data management system and access multiple databases for benefit and workflow information.

Enhance clinical knowledge and skills by actively participating in all assigned training and staff meetings

Education/Experience: Master's degree in behavioral health and 3 years of behavioral health experience (at least 2 years must be post-Master's degree). Prior managed care experience preferred. Prior experience with multiple system applications and electronic data entry, including call center and/or health care databases preferred.

License/Certification: Unrestricted license as Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or Licensed Psychologist (PhD).

Please note: This is an hourly office-based clinical position in the Irving/ Dallas MetroPlex area. The work schedule is 9:30 am - 6:00 pm and required to work some holidays.

These functions include interpreting, formulating, and dispensing of infusion and/or specialty drugs for sterile compounding and/or distribution. Pharmacist clinical activities include therapy assessment, care planning and medication reconciliation as they pertain to individual patients and the appropriate monitoring for effective care and positive patient outcome. This is a dynamic work environment and requires flexibility to meet business needs and adaptability to frequent changes. This is a Pharmacist role for the Specialty Infusion Services unit within OptumRx, a UnitedHealth Group company. Primary Responsibilities: * Reviews medication orders and evaluates appropriateness and completeness of orders with consideration given to the special needs and behaviors of the specific age group served. Verifies all prescriptions not directly received from the prescriber or physician's agent * Provide oversight of the safety; appropriateness, and effectiveness of the pharmaceutical care provide to patients (consumers) as it relates to specialty products dispensed. * Assesses the patient at the initiation of drug therapy, develops a patient care plan and drug monitoring regimen and monitors the patient according to the care plan throughout the course of therapy * Communicates with the patient, physician, nursing staff, other pharmacists and other members of the health care team regarding patient status, response to therapy and clinical objectives to ensure clinical outcomes are met * When required, compounds intravenous and specialty pharmaceuticals in an aseptic fashion according to established State Board of Pharmacy, Federal, USP<797> and <800> sterile guidelines and company policy. Knowledgeable of the proper use and handling of both sterile and hazardous medications. Compounds and handles sterile and hazardous medications in accordance with established guidelines and regulations * Ensures compliance with all FDA, DEA, State Board of Pharmacy, OSHA and other regulatory standards. Follows all department policies and procedures Required Qualifications: * BS in Pharmacy or Pharm D degree * Active, unrestricted Pharmacist license in TX * Sterile IV Compounding Certification in state of TX * 1 years of professional Pharmacist experience * Strong drug product and clinical pharmacy knowledge * Knowledgeable in various infusion related therapies and ability to work through the complexity of therapy related orders. Ability to fill medication orders accurately and in a timely manner. * Must be able to work on-call after hours, weekends and holidays as scheduled * Computer and typing proficiency including MS Word Preferred Qualifications: * 3 years of practicing Pharmacist experience working in in home infusion, hospital, or related healthcare environment * Experience developing or operationalizing medication clinical guidelines and/or formulary development * Experience working within a managed healthcare system * Home Infusion experience * Chemotherapy compounding experience Careers with Optum.
