The Behavioral Health Care Data Specialist provides leadership for the evaluation of children's mental health (CMH) grants and support for Medical Assistance (MA) certification process.
Job Responsibilities Include:
Develop data collection, data sharing, and evaluation approaches and systems to allow monitoring of the performance of all provider types in the publicly-financed behavioral health system that serve individuals with social, emotional, and behavioral disorders.
Producing grant management, certification, and recertification provider reports for DHS staff, providers and counties from data collected through the MHIS and MHCP claims data in DHS data warehouse.
Provide training and technical assistance to DHS staff, county personnel, and providers on client level data reporting.
Develop and implement systematic reporting formats for the ongoing evaluation of state-wide programs and services managed by Behavioral Health Division (BHD), particularly services provided through the Mental Health Infrastructure Grants.
Three (3) years of professional experience with database management, conducting evaluation or research.
Experience must demonstrate the following:
At least one advanced statistical software package such as SAS, SPSS, or S-Plus;
Information systems/databases design to find and use data to inform policy;
Methods of research design, survey sampling, data collection, quantitative and qualitative analysis, or interpretation
A Bachelors degree or higher in Marketing, Business, Social Sciences or related field may substitute for one (1) year of experience.
Knowledge of DHS Data warehouse data from MMIS, MAXIS and SSIS.
Knowledge of platforms: Windows, DOS, Teradata and SAS Server.
Knowledge of data programming and manipulation software: SAS/SAS EBI, BI Query, SQL and SPSS.
Knowledge of mental health client level reporting as well as mental health service claims data
