Schedule / Shift: (4) 10's or 5 (8's) mid-shift starting at 10am, 11am or 12pm CST. Weekend rotation 2 days per month as well as holiday rotation required.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Behavioral Health Call Center Clinical Specialist, you will respond to all calls for information and inquiries about services offered. This includes calls from potential patients, community partners, and overflow calls from intake departments at Behavioral Health facilities. You will also assist callers with accessing the most appropriate level of care and service provider to meet the patient's needs. You will be responsible for coordinating the triage evaluation of the caller and may provide clinical assessments for potential patients. This position may work collaboratively with the Patient Logistics Center and/or a Behavioral Health facility to expedite admission and coordinate resources/information for the facility.

What you will do in this role:

  • Handles all inquiry calls and routes calls appropriately

  • Triage patients to determine the level of care

  • Collects required information and documents using a standardized format, including insurance and referral information

  • Coordinates assessment appointments or completes behavioral health assessments

  • Responsible for documenting all calls coming in regardless of the outcome in the approved format

  • Works collaboratively with hospital departments to assist in managing overflow calls

  • Models and trains other behavioral health team members on managing and tracking inquiry calls

  • Accurately records/documents to ensure reliable reporting of all key indicators related to calls, assessments, admissions

  • Ensures patient rights and confidentiality

  • Provides input, suggestions, and support appropriately

  • Actively participates in team meetings and engages in the processes of the contact center

What qualifications you will need:

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling or related field and holds a professional licensure as an independent mental health professional; or

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Master's preferred, with experience as outlined below

  • Prefer 1-3 years' experience in a behavioral healthcare setting performing clinical assessments or in a clinical treatment setting for non-nurses

  • RNs require a minimum of 3-5 years' experience in an inpatient setting and prefer a demonstrated ability to complete crisis assessments

  • Call Center experience preferred

  • Experience working in an Intake Department preferred

  • Licensed to perform clinical assessments to determine level of care needs and to diagnose according to the current version of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual required

  • Must hold and maintain current licensure as a mental health professional, such as Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or RN license (RN requires at least 3 years in an applicable mental health environment)
