Behavioral Health Billing-(3073694)


The BWPO Billing/Managed Care Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the professional billing revenue cycle within the Department of Psychiatry. This will include but is not limited to insurance verification, timely and accurate charge entry, updating insurance information, and management of authorization process for the Department.

He/she will also serve as an immediate resource for revenue cycle functions within the department. Must be autonomous and enjoy working as part of a team. Frequently initiates communication with insurance companies, physicians, and staff members to ensure the smooth operation of departmental and clinical needs. Ensures JCAHO and BWH/BWFH compliance.

  • Knowledge of behavioral health managed care and other insurances preferred

  • Previous experience in a customer service role preferred

  • Previous experience in a healthcare environment preferred

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent relevant work experience required

VIEW JOBS 11/5/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-03T00:00 The Northeastern University Behavioral Health (UHCS) Counselor's primary responsibility is to provide Behavioral Health services to Northeastern University students. These services will be delivered in accordance with the UHCS model of care, and will include initial assessment, stabilization, and referral. The position involves participation in on-call and triage duties that include assessment of students who present for walk-in, same-day and urgent assessment, mas well as occasional Saturday on-site duty. On-call responsibilities also include occasional overnight availability by pager. The position may also involve outreach activities to the Northeastern University community and coordination with various support services within the University. The Behavioral Health Counselor will be responsible for making treatment recommendations and appropriate referrals for psychopharmacological assessment and ongoing therapy in the local community. Assessment of students with behavioral health emergencies, crisis response and appropriate utilization of University and community resources is included amongst the responsibilities. Time spent in the various clinical service activities may shift in proportion to changes in service demands at any given time of the year. The Behavioral Health Counselor will often work closely with University academic and support departments and will collaborate with other members of the UHCS Behavioral Health and Medical staff as appropriate, all in the interest of providing the best possible team-oriented health care to Northeastern students. The Behavioral Health Counselor will incorporate learning opportunities as appropriate into all aspects of student assessment and treatment, including but not limited to self-care practices, safe and healthy lifestyle choices and management and navigation of health care systems.
