Job Goal: To design, monitor, evaluate, and coordinate programs and services for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and intensive behavioral or learning needs consistent with Applied Behavior Analysis principles.
To link coordination with school, home, agencies, community, and environment.
Reports to: District BCBA and Special Education Administrator
Performance Responsibilities:
PROGRAM:
Attend and participate in initial, review, and re-evaluation IEP meetings for students one your caseload or in evaluation
Complete IEP paperwork including current performance levels, extended school year data collection, measurable annual goals, progress reporting, and accommodations/modifications needed for students on your caseload
Develop Behavior Support Plans and ABA based programming for students on your caseload
Conduct functional skills evaluations and provide such students with appropriate written behavioral assessment, measures of behavior, descriptive and functional analysis, and behavioral change procedures.
Support the implementation of positive behavioral interventions in the school setting
Consult regularly with outside ABA providers regarding programming and student needs.
Maintain documentation of student services
Prepare purchase orders for necessary student material reinforcers, and other appropriate supplies.
PERSONNEL:
Provide regularly scheduled guidance and support to general and special education staff and paraprofessionals regarding the implementation of special education services for students on your caseload.
Provide oversight and support to paraprofessionals with implementation of behavioral interventions and data collection for students on your caseload.
Organize, display, and interpret data collected.
Consult with and assist the Special Education staff in modifying the student's academic curriculum or implementing accommodations if needed.
Work with school principals in developing staff schedules for paraprofessionals during the school year in accordance with what is outlined in the student's IEP.
COORDINATION:
Provide inservice training for staff and assist in the coordination and identification of the most effective teaching practices and behavioral support interventions for students
Model and provide feedback on specialized instructional techniques for staff
Meet regularly with the principal and Special Education Administrator to review program implementation and coordination, service delivery, as well as student and staff concerns.
Coordinate the behavior learning special education services of students within assigned buildings and within the home if needed.
Consult with the Special Education Administrator regarding the needs of our out of district students with behavioral intervention needs.
Communicate effectively with parents, staff and administrators regarding the needs and development of students on your caseload
Assume such responsibilities and perform such tasks as assigned by administration.
Terms of Employment: Salary and work year as negotiated and approved by the Superintendent.
