Bachelors degree from accredited college/university preferred plus one year of direct service experience in a social service organization and one year documented experience with the development of behavior management/support/intervention techniques (or equivalent combination), over 18 years of age, and valid drivers license and transportation. Must pass background checks, physical, TB and drug screening (ALL company paid!). Three years of clinical experience and masters degree preferred.
The Behavior Supports Consultant reports directly to the Clinical Coordinator of Integrated Clinical Services. Our Integrated Clinical Services offer a detailed structure of supports for those who struggle in traditional IDD programs. Each plan is diagnostically driven and grounded in strong clinical and therapeutic principles. We believe that respect for the individuals we care for includes extensive specialized training, plan development, and guidance for the family and team members. This process is guided by the Behavior Supports Consultant. The Behavior Supports Consultant is responsible for the following:
Providing direct and indirect behavioral intervention and consultation for consumers and their support teams.
Guiding treatment by developing a treatment plan and monitoring progress on goals.
Intervening directly with a consumer, and developing programs, as appropriate.
Conducting team trainings and facilitating team meetings.
Utilizing a team approach according to the principles of Positive Approaches as well as the Guidelines for Effective Behavior Supports.
Conducting behavioral assessments according to principles guided by the Trauma Informed Care Model and FBA.
