Summary of Work

South Central Human Service Center - Jamestown, ND - Behavior Modification Spec / Psychometrist

As a Behavior Modification Specialist / Psychometrist, you will assist individuals where they live to build skills so they can live a quality, independent life.

Every day, you will travel to individuals' homes and communities. There you will teach daily living and household skills, communication, and emotion regulation skills, budgeting skills, as well as health, safety, and hygiene skills. You will be part of an integrated, interdisciplinary team focused on providing the best support plan possible for each individual.

As a Psychometrist, you will be responsible for administering and scoring psychological tests under the direction of clinical psychologists. Accuracy, validity, and standardization in administration is a must. You will accurately score assessments with appropriate norms and provide detailed behavioral observations of the examinee that may be used by the psychologist to aid in test interpretation.

To thrive in this position, you should enjoy teaching and role-modeling, be passionate about empowering others, and prefer working with clients in their home and natural environments.

To be considered for the Skills Trainer position, you must have the following qualifications:

  • Master's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, education, child development and family science, or communication disorders.

  • Or a bachelors' degree in one of the above fields and two years of work experience in the respective discipline.

  • Behavior Modification Attestation Form may be required based on degree and licensure.

This position requires a valid driver's license and successful completion of the assigned defensive driving course during new-hire orientation.

ND HHS utilizes a blended workplace model. This position provides essential client services face to face and therefore the person in this position needs to be able to travel to meet clients at their location.
