Support and reinforce therapeutic crisis intervention services within the school setting; work closely with residential treatment team to provide consistent treatment approach.
Seeking a self-motivated individual to provide therapeutic crisis intervention services and de-escalation techniques for students with emotional and behavioral disorders and provide support to the faculty at New Dominion School, which is located on the campus of Gerard Academy. Responsibilities include supervising student behaviors during daily academic routines to ensure the safety of students and staff; collaborating with the interdisciplinary team regarding student behavior goals, policies and procedures surrounding student behavior, student progress and intervention activities; and coordinating and implementing student activities and events that are part of the regular school day program, as well as extracurricular activities.
High School Diploma required, along with a minimum of two (2) years related experience in a school, day treatment or residential treatment setting with demonstrated emphasis on behavior intervention responsibilities; Bachelor's Degree preferred. Must obtain and maintain certification in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) techniques.
Requires the ability to assist in physical interventions and restraints of student residents, lift up to 50 lbs unassisted, stand and walk for extended periods of time (2-4 hours), and the ability to twist, bend and stretch in a manner conducive to execution of daily activities within a school.
