Known locally nationwide, our distribution network serves more than one million customers of all sizes with a broad offering of top-quality products and unmatched expertise. Airgas' customer base includes but is not limited to: manufacturing, health care, construction, energy, hospitality, food service, and so on… Bring your competitive drive to Airgas and ability to work in a fast-paced, results oriented environment. It is an exciting time at Airgas! We are kicking off an HR Evolution project, which includes the implementation of Workday. This new technology will completely change how our HR functions operate and support the business. Our current Director of HCM Systems will be retiring after 17 years of dedication to Airgas. This creates a unique opportunity for a new HCM Systems expert to come in and build off our strong foundation. This role will gain exposure to how all the functions within HR connect and support their customers. This opportunity includes heavy interaction with our field HR teams, the IT team, and the home office for our parent company in Paris. It will allow this person to see how the entire organization is connected and to build relationships at all levels. Additionally, you will have a front row seat for the deployment of Workday! This role will be responsible for the day to day operational activities of the HCM Systems department. In the short-term, this role will play a critical role in the deployment of Workday. In order to be successful, the Director of HCM Systems must be able to work cross functionally between the different departments within HR, their internal customers in the field, and at times with IT, Finance, the Home Office, as well as our system implementor! In doing so, we need someone capable of seeing how different elements of the system are interdependent, who is able to make the internal connections around these interdependencies, and who provides stellar customer service. The ability to influence, communicate effectively, and to help drive accountability are critical to the success of this role. It is also important to note that this role requires far more IT systems knowledge than HR knowledge. Our ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience with Workday. Specific responsibilities include: * Serve as the leader, owner, and subject matter expert for Workday system functionality, business processes, and configuration. * To provide all day to day leadership and standard management functions to a team of HCM Analysts. As part of the project, this will include assessing the team resources and structure needed to effectively support Workday once in run state. * Ensure the organization is continuing the shift to leverage Workday most efficiently. This would include engaging with HR Operations and the business to understand operational challenges and aid in root cause problem resolution. * Partner with our field HR Teams and HR Compliance team around continuous process improvements leveraging a clear understanding of local requirements (i.e. regulatory changes) and how they would impact the system. * Monitor the Workday Community site for reported bugs, fixes, and new enhancements relative to assigned modules. * Advise on business requests for system enhancements. Where it is possible, leverage the technological capabilities of Workday to maximize system efficiencies. * Review functionality delivered in future Workday releases to assess business impacts and opportunities for enhancements. Ensure future releases are properly tested, with thorough communication to the related stakeholders. * Ensures data integrity via ongoing governance and audits. * Create reporting solutions to meet Airgas' business objectives including creating and maintaining existing reports, ad hoc reports, templates, dashboards, and metrics. * Assist in resolving user how-to questions, and develop training documentation as necessary to minimize re-occurrences of user error and provide periodic training for end users on system processes and procedures. * Ensure a proper level of support for other HR systems and Business systems, in particular the related integrations. * Other duties as assigned to ensure proper support to the business and HR Department. Project Responsibilities: * As the Owner for the overall HCM Module, you will have overall responsibility for this work stream. This will include strong collaboration with the HR Systems team at the parent company and our system implementer. Heavy focus will be placed on driving alignment around Access rights and Administrative rights as they are finalized. * Ensure all HCM related business processes are streamlined and simple. * This role is the primary owner for HR Data. This includes carrying out and modifying as needed the Data Conversion Strategy. This includes the data cleansing exercises with the field, extraction from our legacy system, data conversion, and uploading to our system implementor. Additional effort will be included around our historical data conversion. * While comprehensive work to capture current Reporting is complete, additional work will be needed to prioritize and replicate the needed reports in Workday. After go-live, additional work will be needed to build dashboards to help the business better understand their Human Capital metrics. * While integrations are a collaborative effort with IT and the system implementor, this role will oversee this effort from an HR perspective. * This role will help to provide support and guidance when the project team is building end-to-end test plans; executing the plans and managing all activities in the plan to ensure that all the objectives are met, and that the solution works as expected. * This role will provide input around end user training documentation and change management efforts. * To partner closely with the Payroll Director on our payroll simplification efforts, specifically the collapsing of pay groups. * To ensure Workday is properly integrated with SAP (our ERP), the IT Ticketing system, the IT Access Rights Management Tool, Alight Benefit Solutions, ADP Payroll Services, PeopleNet Driver Logs, as well as our less core systems. * Other duties as assigned to ensure the success of the project.
