As the Before & After School Program Director, you'll lead a team of dedicated staff to provide a safe, inclusive, and high-quality program for school-age children. You'll develop and implement exciting activities, oversee program operations, and foster positive relationships with students, families, and school partners. What You'll Do:
Lead & Oversee Program Operations- Ensure smooth daily operations of our Before & After School program on the campus of an elementary school for students in TK-6th grade, providing a safe and structured environment
Develop Fun & Enriching Activities- Plan and implement activities that support academic success, creativity, and social-emotional learning
Supervise & Support Staff- Hire, train, and mentor staff to create a positive and engaging experience for kids and families
Build Relationships with Schools & Families- Serve as the main point of contact for parents, school administrators, and community partners
Ensure Safety & Compliance- Maintain program licensing, safety protocols, and child protection policies to provide a secure environment. The candidate should have knowledge and familiarity with Title 22 regulations.
Engage with the Community- Promote the program through outreach, partnerships, and special events to increase impact and enrollment
What We're Looking For:
Passion for Youth Development & Leadership: Experience in school-age child care, youth programs, or education is a plus!
Energetic & Organized Leader- Ability to manage multiple priorities, oversee staff, and run a high-quality program with enthusiasm
Strong Communication & Relationship-Building Skills- Work effectively with children, parents, staff, and community partners ️
Experience in Program Administration- Background in education, child development, or recreation preferred
Availability:
Certifications & Requirements:
Must be 21 or older
CPR, First Aid, and AED Certification from the American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or ASHI (must be obtained within 60 days of hire, no online only certifications accepted)
TB Test Clearance
Education:
Option 1: Twelve (12) semester units in Child Development and/or Early Childhood Education and/or Child & Adolescent Development.
Option 2: Three (3) semester units in Child Development and/or Early Childhood Education and/or Child & a Adolescent Development plus an additional nine (9) semester units in any combination of the following: Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Child & Adolescent Development, Psychology, Sociology, Elementary Education, Recreation, Arts, Theater, Home Economics, Counseling, Humanities, Human Services, Health, Nutrition, Nursing, Physical Education and/or Kinesiology
Option 3: Associate or Bachelor degree with at least three (3) units in Child Development and/or Early Childhood Education and/or Child & Adolescent Development.
High School Diploma or equivalent
Three (3) semester units in Administration, Supervision or Staff Relations, or willing to enroll and complete the units at an accredit college (online or on-campus) within six (6) months of hire.
Four years' experience supervising group child care center. Previous experience working with school age children in a group setting (preferred).
Proof of vaccination or immunization for pertussis (TDAP), and measles (MMR) or willing to complete prior to your first day.
