Carpenter Co has an immediate opening for a 2nd shift Bedding Lead position at our Conover, NC manufacturing plant reporting to the Bedding Supervisor. This position is responsible for assisting the supervisor in directing and guiding operations in the Bedding department in an efficient, safe and quality-focused manner. The Bedding Lead will have daily communication with employees in the plant, department supervisors, other department managers, and plant management. This position works in a normal manufacturing environment with constant exposure to temperature changes and different noise levels.

Position Description

• Ongoing communication with the department employees, supervisor, and manager.

• Major challenge of the position involves having responsibility to meet objectives.

• Assist supervisor in coordinating daily production.

• Coordinate the priorities of material (pick list) to be cut. Control samples from fabricating to point of delivery.

• Q.C. product in every stage of the production.

• Assist supervisor in training employees.

• Coordinate material to be reissued for rushes, missing pieces, or special orders.

• Able to take on supervisor's roles when they are not present.

Skills/Requirements

• Prior leadership and management experience preferred

• Excellent interpersonal skills

• Ability to identify and resolve problems; Analyze information; Develop alternative solutions

• Exhibit sound judgment; Make timely decisions; Manage employees fairly and consistently

• Be flexible with work hours

• Must be able to read and interpret a tape measure.

• Forklift experience a plus
