This individual:

Determines patient priority and the ability to transfer patients between units when requested beds exceed available beds. Acts as a liaison for physicians and hospitals to facilitate the transfer of patients into the institution. Supervises staff and manages employee performance.

Provides on-going performance feedback, addresses problems, orients and trains employees, verifies competency and identifies and suggests ways to develop skills. Keeps abreast of and demonstrates sensitivity to and understanding of the ethical and legal ramifications related to patient placement and utilization of beds. Uses advanced clinical knowledge to direct proper patient placement and utilization of beds in accordance with established standards and policies.

Communicates patients' needs through appropriate verbal and written communications. Minimum Qualifications Must have a valid, active unencumbered Nursing license or temporary permit approved by the Georgia Licensing Board. Three years of recent (within the past five years) nursing experience that includes supervision and patient bed placement.

Basic Cardiac Life Support Provider and ACLS certifications required.
