Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) Advanced Information Technologist

  • Security to join our growing Data Analytics Engineering & Integration team in Ridley Park, PA, Seattle, WA, or Hazelwood, MO! This team is tasked with transforming the way BDS data is sourced, managed, and utilized to unlock insights to drive business growth and optimization. The team supports data needs for internal stakeholders, across BDS business programs and functions, and is tasked with utilizing data to inform and improve the full lifecycle of BDS products.

As a SMEAdvanced Information Technologist

  • Security, you will be a thought leader in how to protect and secure critical data assets in support of the BDS Data Analytics Platform leveraging modern security technologies, ZeroTrust framework, and others. You will be responsible for crafting the data security framework, infrastructure, and systems necessary to properly secure data and meet all required compliance requirements for the BDS Analytics Data Platform and oversee the implementation.

This role requires a resourceful, self-driven, outcome-oriented individual with meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to partner, execute, communicate skillfully, while solving complex problems in dynamic environments. The ideal candidate will have experience with cloud security models, hybrid cloud security techniques, modern authentication and authorization technologies, enterprise architecture, cloud software development, and ITAR/EAR/GPDR compliance frameworks.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Participates in all aspects of agile software development, including design, implementation, and deployment.

  • Defines the security strategy and oversee implementation, operation, and sustainment of the security framework for the BDS Analytics Data Platform

  • Assesses the business impact that certain technical choices have. Directs the identification and recommendation of appropriate solutions, upgrades, replacements, or decommissioning options incorporating business and technology productivity, usability, and total cost of ownership

  • Advocates and define security vision, including internal and external platforms, tools, and systems

  • Engages and partner with senior technical leadership to help shape and align the BDS Analytics Data Platform strategy

  • Engages and coordinate with enterprise architecture to shape BDS requirements for authentication, authorization, and ZeroTrust

  • Works closely and collaborate with partner and enterprise technical organizations

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform work one day a week onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team's discretion and could potentially change in the future.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience leading development and implementation of modern security frameworks

  • Experience designing cloud security architecture

  • Experience with data transformation, data management, data modeling, data compliance, and data products

  • Must be able to provide thought leadership across business and technical project dimensions solving complex business requirements

  • Experience with cross-functional cooperation

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Technical Bachelor's degree

  • Experience with AWS GovCloud

  • 1+ years of Agile and/or SAFe Agile

  • Experience implementing IAM services

  • Experience with micro-services architecture and familiarity with multi-cloud architectures

  • Experience with containers and container orchestration technologies

  • Experience with Databricks

  • Experience in the aviation industry or other regulated industries

  • Experience of working within a multinational matrix management environment / structure and a large-scale, sophisticated international organization

  • Experience with collaboration tools Atlassian Jira and Confluence

Typical Education / Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience, 13 years' related work experience, etc.).

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary Pay Range: Ridley Park, PA: $136,850 - $185,150| Seattle, WA: $136,850 - $185,150| Hazelwood, MO: $127,500 - $172,500
