Bolton Public Schools has an opening for a permanent full-time Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). The BCBA will report to the Director of Student Support Services. This position works with the teachers school calendar: five days a week, thirty-seven (37.5) hours a week. ESY hours may be available at the hourly rate of pay.

Overview:

The BCBA provides behavior analytic services to staff to support them in the provisions of behavior supports and services throughout the district. These supports and services are designed to assist students with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and/or other behavioral disorders in the least restrictive environment. The BCBA conducts assessments and develops plans that confirm to IDEA, Connecticut law and regulations, as well as other applicable statutes and regulations. The BCBA consults and coordinates with educational staff, other related service providers, administrators, and parents to assist in the development and implementation of the student's behavioral interventions. These programs may occur in a general education and/or special education setting. The BCBA also provides district-wide support and training regarding behavior intervention techniques to certified staff, paraprofessional, and administrators.

Qualifications:

  • Current Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) Certification from the BACB

  • Licensed Behavior Analyst for the State of CT

  • School-based experience working with students with autism and other behavior disorders

  • Qualified through the BACB to supervise RBTs & BCBA trainees preferred, or willingness to become qualified

  • PMT training preferred, or ability to become qualified

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist and support to administer Behavior Intervention Plans, and other assessments associated with supporting students on the autism spectrum and behavioral needs

  • Assist with student crisis intervention

  • Conducts functional behavior assessments and behavior plans and develop interventions for the purpose of providing a safe and effective educational environment for the students with challenging behaviors

  • Train staff in order to support the implementation of behaviorally-based and behavior interventions, competency checklists, and program design

  • Collect, analyze, and summarize behavioral data to determine the effectiveness of treatment plan and skill assessments and conduct fidelity checks with staff

  • Complete all reporting requirements as mandated by the District, State, Federal, and Educational agencies ( i.e. restraint and seclusion, assessments, behavior data)

  • Provide professional development, training, in-service presentations, etc. in classroom management techniques and other topics for the purpose of developing skills and establishing effective relationships with students with behavior or emotional challenges

  • Implement and coach school personnel on research based methods of classroom management and behavioral strategies

  • Participate in PPT meetings and in the development of Individualized educational Programs for students

  • Participate in MTSS and 504 meetings as needed

  • Ability to communicate ideas and directives clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing

  • Ability to work effectively with colleagues and parents

  • Organizational and problem solving skills

  • Collaborate with district staff in the development, implementation, and assessment of individualized and classroom wide behavior intervention plans, and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) instructional programs for students with ASD or other disabilities that present behavior or learning challenges

  • Direct service with students when required

  • Other duties as assigned

Salary: $70,000 - $82,000
