Job Summary

Under minimal supervision the Altice Technical Services Broadband Technician IV fulfills demand maintenance and preventive maintenance by troubleshooting and repairing the transport, trunk and distribution networks from the Master Telecommunication Center (MTC/headend) to customer's electronic devices. Coaches and mentors other technical operations team members.


  • Provides quality internal and external customer service reflecting the Company values

  • Coaches and mentors other technical operations team members

  • Fulfills demand maintenance and preventive maintenance by troubleshooting and repairing the transport, trunk, and distribution networks from the Master Telecommunication Center (headend) to customer's electronic devices

  • Maintains a unity gain network

  • Fulfills FCC-required network tests

  • Serves as a mentor to other team members, providing instruction, support and direction

  • Performs all duties of Broadband Technician I, II and III as necessary

  • Troubleshoots and repairs the distribution network from bridger to customer's electronic devices

  • Maintains network integrity through preventive maintenance

  • Adheres to established maintenance windows for all outages

  • Resolves issues at installation and on scheduled service call from customer's electronic devices to tap

  • Installs, tests and troubleshoots Company services including video, data and telephone from tap to customer electronic devices

  • Educates customers regarding use of installed products; explains waivers, agreements, customer release forms, charges and billing procedures

  • Determines customer's current service levels; inquires about customer preferences and needs; recommends service upgrades or additional products

  • Resolves or escalates customer complaints, as appropriate

  • Uses automated routing system or plans daily route; requisitions equipment and supplies; stocks Company vehicle

  • Meets scheduled appointment windows

  • Completes work orders and other documentation on paper or by mobile computer

  • Represents Company to collect payments and equipment; secures appropriate customer signatures

  • Uses small hand tools, power tools, meters, and other test equipment

  • Maintains and secures Company truck and equipment

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Essential Functions

  • Works on regularly scheduled days as well as unscheduled days and beyond regular work hours as required

  • Ability to communicate in person and by telephone

  • Ability to differentiate between different sizes and colors of wires

  • Ability to carry and to use tools and equipment as necessary

  • Ability to work while standing 50 - 70% of the time

  • Ability to use any equipment in a safe manner, in accordance with company, industry and regulatory standards

  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds

  • Ability to carry, climb and operate extension ladder (approx. 28 ft high and 75 pounds). Accommodation with 50 pound maximum lifting is available.

  • Ability to climb poles using gaffs, hooks and climbing belt (weight limit of 350 pounds) as needed

  • Ability to work in confined spaces such as crawlspaces and attics (may include crawling, bending, reaching, twisting)

  • Ability to drive company vehicle in a safe and responsible manner

Qualifications / Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Broadband Technician III or equivalent experience required

  • Qualified to obtain all necessary licenses required by the state in which he/she is installing and/or servicing Altice Technical Services security services (if applicable).

  • If not hired from within, must attain SCTE Broadband Distribution Specialist Certification within six months of achieving the position

  • If not hired from within, must attain SCTE Broadband Transport Specialist within six months of achieving the position

  • Knowledge of basic mathematics

  • Knowledge of basic electronics

  • Skill in using a Windows-based computer

Job Summary: This position is geared toward upcoming and recent college graduates who are available to work full-time starting January 2019 or before. Training is provided. The position supports either smaller construction projects within our Service Department or larger projects with our Construction Department. Position Qualifications and Skills: * Interested in pursuing a career in the mechanical construction industry. * Must be available to work full-time beginning January 2019 or before. * Must have successfully completed a Bachelor's degree in a Construction or Mechanical Engineering related discipline by January 2019. * Related work experience is not required. However, applicants with related work experience such as internships are preferred. * A High school diploma or GED equivalent. * Working knowledge of computer software, including spreadsheets, Microsoft Office and Outlook. * Good communication skills, both verbal and written. * Must be able to satisfactorily pass a criminal background check and drug screen. * Must be able to satisfactorily pass a motor vehicle record check.
