Seeking an individual with prior knowledge and experience working with students in marching band. Must be a percussionist that is a strong leader in music and the marching arts with excellent skills in marching, performance, and writing and arranging music. Battery instructor will work closely with the Director of Bands to coordinate preparations like warm-up packets, exercises, stand tunes, show music and activities that align with the ensemble.
Duties and Responsibilities: Candidate must have experience in the marching arts and battery percussion (DCI, WGI, college marching band) and have previous teaching experience.
Must attend band camp, all rehearsals, football games, tournament games and other events planned throughout the year as needed by the Director. Candidate will work to advance the level of the percussion section and help with recruitment. The instructor will work with the Director of Bands, instructional staff members and students to ensure a positive experience for students and successful performances.
Required Experience:
Must have DCI, WGI or collegiate ensemble experience.
