EnerVenue is looking for a Battery Test Engineer to join our growing start-up company. You will be responsible for testing electrochemical cells, battery packs and systems for advanced energy storage applications as a member of the Product Engineering team.

Responsibilities

  • The focus of this position will be solving equipment related issues, includes installing, maintaining, troubleshooting and calibrating Test equipment.

  • This position is responsible for communicating to the facility team and the IT team on the requirements of installing the testing equipment and tracking the progress of installation.

  • Collaborate with the testing engineers and the facility team to design the equipment layout for new lab spaces.

  • Communicate with equipment vendors for scheduling services and troubleshooting test issues.

  • This role collaborates closely with test engineers and technicians to ensure the equipment achieves top-notch performance.

  • Design and build/modify different tools/fixtures to support different testing purposes from materials level, battery cell level, battery module level to HV battery pack level in battery technology labs.

  • Responsible for procurement, manage, maintain, and explore upgrades for lab hardware, including battery cyclers, thermal chambers, and electronics, as well as supplies and consumables.

  • Collaborate with test engineers and technicians to design and integrate additional safety features on lab equipment to enhance lab safety standards.

  • Perform lab asset management duties (storage, transportation, calibration, service) and maintain the equipment database.

  • Train technicians on specialized equipment usage and lab practices.

Qualifications

  • Experience with maintenance of Electrical testing equipment, Temperature and Humidity Chamber and other instruments (e.g. digital multimeter, impedance analyzer) for R&D laboratory.

  • Experience with operating battery testing equipment is a plus.

  • Solid electrical and mechanical engineering fundamentals

  • Experience working and modifying computer devices

  • Good root causes analytical skills to identify and to resolve maintenance issues with equipment

  • Speed of work, proficiency, diligence and good communication skills

  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical engineering or related field

  • 2+ years of experience in lab setup, management, and maintenance in an R&D environment

  • Must have the ability to independently prioritize and accomplish work within time constraints

  • Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is a plus.

Salary Range:

$120,540 - 145,768
