Project Overview

Port Arthur LNG, LLC (PALNG) is developing a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on a site located on the western shoreline of the Port Arthur Canal in Jefferson County, Texas. The project base scope will include two (2) identical LNG trains, two (2) LNG Storage Tanks, one (1) LNG Carrier Berth, and associated utilities/facilities. The Project is to be constructed on a parcel of land located along State Highway 87 south of Port Arthur, Texas, between the inner coastal waterway bridge and Keith Lake.

The Infrastructure Global Business Unit (GBU) is executing site civil and marine scopes of work associated with our scopes of work on the Energy GBU LNG projects. As the #1 LNG EPC contractor by installed capacity, Bechtel has the capability to successfully deliver a broad range of LNG projects through our integrated EPC self-perform model, strategic partnerships, and proven experience in LNG project delivery. Partnering with Bechtel means lower cost, shorter delivery schedules, and greater certainty of outcomes for our customers.

Position Summary

The Batch Plant Coordinator will report to the Lead CSA Field Engineer and is responsible for providing oversight and coordination to a subcontractor supplied and managed batch plant that produces concrete and slurry.

Responsibilities

• Managing the subcontractor who is providing concrete and slurry to the job site.

• Performing audits of the concrete and slurry mixing processes in accordance with execution plans, QA/QC plans, and inspection and test plans.

• Reviewing and approving QA/QC documents and test reports.

• Generating subcontractor daily reports.

• Providing daily schedules to the subcontractor and Bechtel management teams.

• Overseeing the subcontractor's cost and schedule.

Qualifications and Skills

Basic Qualifications

• University/B.S degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or 4 years of equivalent industry experience in-lieu of a degree.

Additional Qualifications

• Experience managing technical services subcontracts.

• Experience on an LNG construction site especially along the U.S. Gulf Coast.

• Familiarity with batch plant operations and concrete testing methods.

• Construction experience assigned to a construction site.

• Heavy industrial direct hire construction experience commensurate with the type of work to be undertaken.

• Knowledge of engineering and construction methods and processes customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience.

• Displays effective communications and presenting plans in a clear and concise manner.

• Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.

• Excellent problem-solving ability.

Additional Information

Work includes field inspections and the physical ability to conduct field inspections which require the following activities: extensive walking in and around a construction site, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces and working in small or confined spaces. Some lifting may be required. Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress). Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.).
