Bat Biologist-Field Coordinator

Applicants should have experience with bats (mist-nets, telemetry, and acoustics) and will be responsible for assisting project managers with managing field staff, resources and data on a variety of wildlife survey and analysis projects within the TX-OK regions (travel to other regions may be required), completing bat surveys per USFWS and state guidance, the set-up of new field projects and short-term field surveys and scientific report writing.
Travel will be required (50% office time and 50% field time is anticipated on an annual basis; however, monthly breakdowns will be seasonally dependent on work). Our Bat Biologists / Field Coordinators work individually, as well as with a team of natural resource specialists, scientists and biometricians to:
Complete mist-net, telemetry, and bat acoustic surveys per USFWS and state guidelines Assist in the day to day administration of projects Train field technicians Setup, supervise and direct field studies Prepare and write reports Prepare proposals Provide quality assurance of data This is a general description of the functions for this position and is not inclusive of the duties which may be associated with this position.
Job Requirements The Bat Biologist / Field Coordinator we are seeking has a great opportunity to help WEST take the next step in our growth as a full service environmental consulting firm.
The successful candidate must be a self-starter who possesses:
Minimum of a bachelors degree in biological studies, natural resources, wildlife management, wildlife biology, rangeland sciences or equivalent.
USFWS mist-net permit (or ability to be added to WESTs permit) Wildlife biology technical knowledge Strong, competent writing skills with the ability to pay close attention to detail and accurately report the scientific methods and results of field studies Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral Good time management, project management and organizational skills with the ability to work well under time constraints and meet deliverable targets and deadlines A track record of maintaining positive relationships with coworkers, clients or stakeholders Ability to follow instructions from managers and accept guidance and constructive criticism Ability to effectively supervise others Ability and willingness to travel Successful candidates must be able to pass a background check; a pre-employment drug screen; and a DMV records check that meets WESTs minimum criteria to operate a motor vehicle on behalf of the company.
A valid drivers license will be required.

VIEW JOBS 12/6/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-03-06T00:00 Responsibilities Include * Collaborate with service managers to ensure technicians are dispatched to work site for scheduled preventative maintenance, installations, and emergency calls while prioritizing the work as appropriate in any given day. * Coordinates all field and depot service work for paid, warranty and goodwill service issues for PAC instruments globally. * Initiate, investigate and resolve customer complaints and maintain a positive rapport with customers and update them of their critical job status within specific time frames. * Enters field and depot service work orders into Service Max and Provide feedback to customers and colleagues on stocking levels, order status, order tracking, service contract and repair order status, etc. * Performs inventory transactions in support of service operations and enter customer demand into ERP system and communicate order confirmation back to customer within 24 hours of receipt of purchase order * Review purchase orders to ensure ability to meet all customer requirements in adherence with PAC corporate terms and conditions * Expedite customer orders to ensure on-time shipment and proactively communicate order status to customer * Process service programs and generate work orders, handle parts demand for work orders and assist technician in ensuring work orders are processed accurately * Assist customers with product returns and generate credit memo requests to finance as needed * Manages all logistics support aspects of spare parts shipments to field service locations and provide technical assistance to customers and colleagues * Compliance with import export requirements when completing shipping documentation for international service jobs * Maintains reports for service technician utilization and other reports * May perform other duties as assigned Requirements * High school diploma required; Associates/Bachelor's degree preferred * Strong technical experience/understanding; 3-5 years' prior experience in an Instrumentation dispatch operation preferred. * Proficiency in reading wiring diagrams and build of materials preferred. * Demonstrated knowledge of ERP system, and Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications * Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and multi-task to meet deadlines * Flexible work schedule must be prepared to work overtime as required.
