Students majoring in exercise science, kinesiology, health/wellness, or strength and conditioning-related field are encouraged to apply, as well as grad students & post-grad too.

Training Philosophy

Our training methodology is implemented through evidence-based training practices and guided by assessment-based individualized programming. Whereas many fitness facilities use “cookie cutter programs” where everyone is doing the same thing, WE BELIEVE that for athletes to reach their potential, they need programming that addresses their unique needs. This is why we use root our initial assessment process in current S&C research and literature, as well as administer these individualized training protocols in a semi-private training model.

About

This is an exciting new opportunity, as students and working professionals will gain in-field experience facilitating semi-private training sessions on the strength floor, as well as being guided through an educational curriculum which includes the following topics:

  • Best practices for results-driven coaching

  • Exercise cueing, troubleshooting, and prescription
  • Programming strategies and yearly periodization for athletes
  • Nutritional Coaching 101 and accountability services
  • Current trends in strength and conditioning

Furthermore, it provides an opportunity to APPLY this knowledge in a real-world environment, providing hundreds of coaching opportunities per week with athletes of various ages and sports (primarily baseball). This is not a “do the chores and run my errands” internship. Our interns will be working directly with anywhere from 60-120 athletes per day, ages 13 to 18+, with an educational session(s) conducted before on-floor coaching.

Parker Oliver, our General Manager, will supervise and facilitate this internship. Parker has served as a strength coach for the last decade for dozens of professional athletes ranging from the NHL, MLB, US National Team, and numerous NCAA Big Ten schools.
