TORC restaurant Napa in search of a BARTENDER to join our team.
14 seat bar, 70 seat dining room.
Seeking friendly, knowledgeable, service-oriented Bartender with a passion for hospitality to join our team.
Candidate needs to be rooted in the classics, the "Professor Jerry Thomas" should be the inspiration.

  • As the primary contact for guest & staff during service in the bar, the Bartender is responsible for overseeing selling and serving mixed beverages, wine and food.

  • Duties include preparing and serving beverages, overseeing bar maintenance, making menu suggestions, delivering food and drinks, describing the dishes to guests, recommending wine selections, monitoring guest satisfaction and managing inventory.

  • Must be pleasant, conscientious and professional with an extensive knowledge of crafting cocktails, product and alcoholic beverage selections.
    Must be able to operate effectively as part of a team, communicate clearly, ensure smooth service operations and quality service.

    Requirements: -Extensive knowledge of classic cocktails, beer, international and domestic wines,and high end spirits.
  • 5 years in an upscale, full service, fine dining environment.

  • Cleanliness, organization and the ability to work well in a team situation are crucial to this position.

  • Applicants must possess a strong dedication toward learning and motivation to progress in a fine dining environment.

VIEW JOBS 10/17/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-01-15T00:00 POSITION SUMMARY The Bartender/Barista is responsible for providing quality service to all guests while ensuring all practices, equipment and inventory are properly maintained. This position will be knowledgeable and able to recommend to food items, wine, beer and other beverages, as well as describe CIA programs and events at Copia and Greystone. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES * Greet guests promptly. * Describe and recommend wine and beer selections. * Serve beverages in appropriate glassware. * Prepare hot and cold beverages such as coffee, espresso and blended coffee drinks. * Receive and process customer payments. * Complete opening and closing side work as assigned. * Conduct physical inventory. * Maintain a clean and orderly work area at all times. * Clean and sanitize utensils and equipment as necessary. * Rotate stock and order supplies as needed. * Check temperatures of freezers or refrigerators or heating equipment to ensure proper functioning. * Report equipment problems to Supervisor. * Monitor and adhere to posted work schedules. * Other job duties as assigned including assignment to other work stations. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Education: * High School diploma or equivalent. Experience: * One year of experience bartending or working in a tasting room. Licenses / Certifications: * TIPS responsible alcohol service certification or equivalent or ability to acquire certificate within 30 days of hire. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Barista experience. * Two years of experience bartending or working in a tasting room. * Strong wine and beer background. * CIA graduate. * MICROS POS System experience. REQUIRED SKILLS * Demonstrated knowledge of wine and beer. * Ability to prepare beverages such as coffee, espresso and blended coffee drinks. * Strong customer service and engagement skills. * Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks while remaining calm and collected. * High level of energy and ability to be productive in down time. * Organized, detail orientated, accurate and efficient. * Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work independently as well as with a team. WORKING CONDITIONS * Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 40 pounds. * Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds. * Ability to work for extended periods of time standing. * Ability to bend, stoop and reach as needed. * Must be able to work flexible hours and shifts including weekends and holidays.
