This position is responsible for serving food and beverages to customers with exceptional service and passionate expertise and tending a full beer and wine bar.


The following description of work to be performed by this individual is not intended to be all-inclusive. Rather, it focuses on the major tasks that must be accomplished. There are many necessary activities to satisfy any of the following performance guidelines.

  • Take food beverage orders from guests; check identification to verify age requirements for purchase of beer and wine and collect money for product served.

  • Present and serve food and beverages in an attractive, safe and efficient manner.

  • Continuously assess product presentation and quality, addressing problems as necessary to ensure high standards are maintained for every client.

  • Offer exceptional customer service to all guests ensuring all needs are met.

  • Take accurate inventory of product.

  • Clean glasses, utensils and bar equipment. Arrange bottles and glasses to make attractive display.

  • Attempt to limit problems and liability related to customers' excessive drinking by taking steps such as persuading customers to stop drinking or ordering taxis or other transportation for intoxicated patrons.

  • Balance daily receipts, reporting tips as required by law.

  • Assist in ordering of beer and wine as needed.

OTHER JOB DUTIES (Not considered essential to the job)

  • Perform all other related assignments (including special projects) as required in a professional and cooperative manner.



  • Education

  • High School or equivalent (State Law: Must be at least 18 years of age)

  • Licensing Required:

  • Bartending Training certificate or ability to obtain

  • Ability to obtain and maintain Food Safety certificate

  • Training for Intervention Procedures (TIPS) training or ability to obtain and maintain

  • Experience:

  • Minimum one year experience as a bartender

  • Other required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • A service-oriented individual with a high energy, positive and friendly demeanor

  • Ability to respond to continually changing priorities and coordinate multiple projects

  • Strong customer service, interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills

  • Full understanding of food and beverage service and laws or health codes related to sanitation, food safety and alcohol service and compliance thereof

  • Working knowledge and understanding of wine, beer and craft beer

  • Ability to work quickly and cleanly

  • Ability to comply with all guidelines governing serving of alcoholic beverages including identification procedures and acceptable forms of identification. He or she will not serve visibly intoxicated clients

  • Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend English
