Latitude Margaritaville is currently looking for a Full-Time Bartender.
The Latitude Bartender is responsible for assisting the F&B Operational Manager / Supervisor with the overall dining program and execution of all aspects of the culinary experience for the community. This includes daily operation of the restaurant and bar, training new employees, to catering and special events.
This is a position for an individual who routinely exercises good judgment and exceptional problem-solving skills and strong leaderships skills. As the face of the dining experience, maintaining positivity and diplomacy in a fast-paced environment is critical while maintaining standards and authentically delivering the Latitude Margaritaville Lifestyle.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Prepare restaurant for lunch / dining by setting decorations, condiments, napkins and utensils
Protect establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety and alcohol beverage control policies
Help patrons select food and beverages by presenting menu; offering cocktails; suggesting courses; explaining the chef's specialties; identifying appropriate wines; answering food preparation questions
Stay updated on current menu choices, specialties and menu deviations, knowing if the kitchen staff is running out of any items, etc.
Transmit orders to bar and kitchen by recording patrons' choices; identifying patrons' special dietary needs and special requests
Keep kitchen staff informed by noting timing of meal progression
Serve orders by picking up and delivering patrons' choices from bar and kitchen; deliver accompaniments and condiments from service bars
Respond to additional patron requirements by inquiring of needs; observing dining process
Maintain table setting by removing courses as completed; replenishing utensils; refilling water glasses; being alert to patron spills or other special needs
Properly open and pour wine at the tableside
Conclude dining experience by acknowledging choice of restaurant; inviting patrons to return
Obtain revenues by totaling charges; issuing bill; accepting payment; returning credit card and signature slip to patrons
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Provide welcoming phone greeting and following Guest ordering procedures
Convey menu information over the phone to Guests and give accurate estimate of pick-up time
Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor
Fill in for absent staff as needed
Assist with special events as needed
Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently
Promptly address customer service issues and refer customers to management when necessary
Daily Operations and Customer Experience:
Maintains a high level of Resident contact throughout service hours
Maintain a surgically clean kitchen at all times. Ensure the utmost proper hygiene by monitoring staff for clean and proper uniforms, personal grooming and food handling
Build strong, effective teams through ongoing supervision, training, coaching, counseling and leadership
Create an "I Love My Job" environment that further enlivens the Margaritaville Latitude Lifestyle.
Ensure proper response and handling of all community emergencies through training with staff, residents, buildings, etc. within company guidelines to minimize liabilities
Ensure compliance with all company, local, state and federal safety rules
Comply with all ordinances and regulations per the locations jurisdictions
High school Diploma or equivalent.
Previous serving experience required
Excellent oral communication skills required
Positive interpersonal skills required
Food Handlers Card
Good telephone speaking and listening ability
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
Strong leadership skills, able to develop a team in both front of house and back of house
Exceptionally creative and quality cooking experience- must be able to consistently create fresh concepts and specials.
Must be willing to work nights and weekends.
Current with culinary and dining trends and styles
Basic knowledge of beer, wine, & spirits
