Basic Purpose of Position:

Responsible for the preparation and service of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and menu items to guests, courteously and efficiently in accordance with company standards. Assists in the maintenance of the bar area equipment via opening and closing checklists. Directs, implements and maintains a philosophy congruent with FoodFirst Global Restaurant's culture, which services as a guide to all staff members.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Ensures compliance when determining potentially intoxicated guests per FoodFirst Global Restaurant standards and procedures

  • Maintain a complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies and procedures and service standards

  • Ensure proper documentation for all accidents and incidents per FoodFirst Global Restaurant policies and procedures

  • Maintain a complete knowledge of all alcoholic menu items, liquor brands, beers, non-alcoholic selections, and daily specials

  • Maintain complete knowledge of designated glassware and garnishes for each drink

  • Maintain complete knowledge of and strictly abide by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated patrons and driving while under the influence

  • Maintain complete knowledge of bar setups, hours of operation, drink prices and menu items

  • Maintain a complete knowledge of all liquor inventories available

  • Maintain a complete knowledge of property layouts, table/seat/station numbers, proper table setups, room capacity, hours of operation, price ranges and dress codes

  • Greet guests and take orders utilizing suggestive selling and upselling techniques

  • Prepare guest checks and process credit cards while adhering to all cash handling and credit card procedures

  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of wine coolers, beer coolers, bar tops and equipment

  • Maintain cleanliness of bars on an on going basis

  • Follow weekly deep cleaning schedule

  • Assist in barback duties when assigned

  • Maintain a complete knowledge of preventative maintenance policies and procedures

  • Facilitate and maintain a complete knowledge of computer systems and FoodFirst Global Restaurant policies and procedures

  • Ensure food and drink quality and presentation

  • Use all chemicals in accordance with OSHA regulations and facility requirements

  • Corrects unsafe practices or conditions

  • Promptly and properly completes all daily paperwork and assignments

  • Ensure all open/closing duties are completed

  • Monitor guest situations and if necessary document the incident

  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Secondary Job Functions:

  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of wine coolers, beer coolers, bar tops and equipment

  • Maintain cleanliness of bars on an on going basis

  • Follow weekly deep cleaning schedule

  • Assist in barback duties when assigned

  • Maintain a complete knowledge of preventative maintenance policies and procedures

Position Requirements:

(Education, Knowledge, Training, Experience, Licenses, Certifications)

High-school degree, or one to two years experience and/or training (mixtology, liquor and food service); or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed by uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a general knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of products, and POS system.
