Northwood Club is a premier country club established in 1946 and located in Dallas, Texas, best known for hosting the 1952 U.S. Open. We just re-opened our newly renovated PGA Championship Golf Course which was named #1 Best Golf Course Renovation in Avid Golfer Magazine. The club also has a Distinguished Clubs of the World Emerald Designation for outstanding member service. Our staff consists of a wide range of professionals who are well recognized in areas of Tennis, Golf and Culinary.
We have a new outlet concept "The Turn" which will be our gourmet coffee and smoothie bar. General Purpose of this position is to promote coffee and smoothie consumption by educating customers; selling coffee and smoothies; preparing and serving a variety of coffee and smoothie drinks. Provides exceptional experiences for every member and guest.

Reports to: F&B Manager, or other Department Managers/Supervisors or Clubhouse Manager
Classification: Hourly and Non Exempt
Provides immediate attention to all guests upon entrance into the Turn. Welcomes customers by determining their beverage interests and needs.
Educates customers by presenting and explaining the coffee and smoothie beverages menu; answering questions about health benefits of nutritional supplements for smoothies.
Prepares beverages by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques for beverages, such as, expresso, latte, cappuccino, and variety of smoothies with additional nutritional supplements that are available.
Prepares beverages to order in a timely manner.
Maintains inventories by replenishing coffee bean supply; maintaining supplies, for coffee bar and supplies, fruits, powders and nutritional supplements for smoothies. Stock and rotate to maintain freshness of product.
Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations.
Enhances Turn experience by accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to member's needs.
Maintain organized workstation and side work duties. Able to complete opening and closing duties.
Accountable for member charges. Utilizes Point of Sales System.
Follows established systems for taking and preparing orders.
Keeps the tables, front entry area and outside area clean.
Maintains flexibility to take on new and different tasks as directed by the Department Manager.
Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Will be required to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; to write simple correspondence; to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other associates of the organization.
Will be required: to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
Reasoning Ability: May be required: to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical Demands: Frequently stands and walks; uses hands to finger, feel or handle; reaches with arms and hands; stoops, kneels, crawls or crouches; talks or hears. Occasionally sits; climbs or balances. Frequently lifts up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.
Regularly uses close, distance, color, and peripheral vision as well as depth perception. Ability to adjust focus.
Environment/Noise: Work indoor environment with occasional humid conditions during summer season. Noise level is moderate.
Certificates/Licenses: Food Safety & Sanitation Training and Alcohol Awareness Training.
Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences
Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).
Previous Barista experience preferred but not required.
