Housing and Food Services (HFS) is pleased to announce an opening for a Barista Lead (Food Service Worker 2) for our ETC Market located in the Husky Den.
ETC Market is a busy place during the week! It's central location on the UW campus and offerings of full service caf and grab to go meal items and snacks make it the go to place for a quick and convenient cup of coffee or bag of chips, or more. In all, ETC averages 11,000 transactions per week. The lead position will participate and lead staff in preparation of espresso beverages, ensuring the Market is well stocked, and providing amazing customer service.
We seek candidates who exhibit an appreciation of, a sensitivity to, and respect for a diverse environment, inclusive of students, faculty and staff of many social, economic, cultural, ideological, racial and ethnic backgrounds.
Assigning, instructing and monitoring the work of staff to ensure established expectations are met.
Performing customer service functions while ensuring that the market is stocked and merchandised properly.
Ensuring opening and closing of the market are properly executed.
As a working lead, preparing espresso beverages and providing service to customers.
One year of experience in high-volume retail market where espresso is served.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may substitute for required qualifications.
Conditions of Employment
A satisfactory outcome from the reference check and education verification.
Acquire a Washington State Food Worker Card within two weeks of employment and maintain thereafter.
