Barinder Cleaning Cell
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot the automated grinder equipment (Barinder). Operate pneumatic chipping tools, grinders and other hand tools to remove excess metal from castings. Use specialized inspection tools to ensure that inner passages of castings are free from obstructions.
Perform all tasks with safety and quality in mind and in accordance with established procedures and process instructions. Take necessary action to minimize delay time and maximize production.
Exhibit superior safety practices every day evidenced by outstanding housekeeping at all times.
Extend treatment to all other employees of the Company as individuals with the courtesy and dignity shown to customers.
Exceed customer quality and service expectations through attention to detail.
Exercise maximum care to protect the environment by fostering and supporting responsible operating procedures.
Program, set up, inspect castings, grind surfaces to correctly seat the casting into the fixture, and load castings to ensure proper cleaning.
Operate grinders, shot shooters, wheel dressers, pneumatic chipping tools, grinders, and other hand tools to remove fins, parting lines, gate and riser contacts, and other irregularities from castings.
Perform visual inspection for scrap castings and insure ID stamp is legible. Use various measuring instruments and tools to inspect castings.
Mark scrap castings and separate from good castings. Check casting dimensions using go/no-go gauges or fixtures. Notify supervisor or Quality Department, as appropriate.
Perform daily grinding equipment safety audit and ensure that grinding tools and equipment are operating within prescribed safety limits. Make adjustments to tool rests and spark guards as required.
Change grinding wheels in accordance with established procedures. Document results as appropriate.
Perform normal / routine maintenance and up-keep on the equipment and arrange for equipment repair by contacting either the supervisor or the Maintenance Department.
Complete routing forms, check sheets and other documents as required.
Needs to possess the ability to work in a team environment which would include; team building, planning, organizing, and scheduling work through the cell as a self directed team. Perform a variety of tasks with little or no supervision
