ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide assistance to Bar/Lounge/Restaurant:

  • Obtain service area assignment(s) at the beginning of each shift. This can include working in the bar/lounge, dining room, private party areas & beverage storage areas.

  • Promptly greet guests as they are seated and bring water to table.

  • Remove used tableware between courses and provide tableware for next course.

  • Clear tables after guests. Take tableware to dish room and place silverware, dishes, glassware, etc. in appropriate areas for washing.

  • Promptly clean table tops, chairs and booths between seating. Check floor and clean as required. Reset and arrange tabletop.

  • Respond appropriately to guest requests. Communicate guest requests to server as needed.

  • Communicate with server and hostess to assure efficient seating, table utilization and customer service.

  • Assist server as needed with food delivery, especially with large parties and during peak periods.

  • Thank guests as they are leaving.

  • Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.

  • Washes dishes in the absence of the dishwasher and/or as directed by the servers and manager.

Abide by legal standards and TIPS alcohol training guidelines for alcohol service to guests.

Works as a Team member to maintain pleasant work environment:

  • Follows the Carlson Attendance Policy.

  • Reports to work dressed according to Carlson Grooming Standards.

  • Maintain a positive inter-departmental relationship through the hotel and with outside vendors.

Creates 100% guest satisfaction by providing the Radisson Blu experience through performance that demonstrates the standards of, genuine hospitality and exceeding guest expectations:

  • Gives personal attention, takes personal responsibility and uses teamwork when providing guest service.

  • Listens, apologizes with empathy, finds a solution and follows through when resolving guest problems.

  • Provides Yes I Can! genuine hospitality and teamwork on an ongoing basis.

  • Assumes the responsibility to notice when the guest is not satisfied and uses their best judgment as to when it is appropriate to use the 100% Guest Satisfaction.

Performs other duties as required by Management to provide 100% Guest Satisfaction and genuine hospitality to our Guests.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience in similar position within an upscale restaurant environment is preferred;

  • Excellent attention to detail;

  • Must possess the ability to handle multiple tasks;

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;

  • Must possess a team spirited attitude and a willingness to help;

  • Ability to effectively communicate with department managers, team members and guests;

  • Ability to retain and give general hotel information.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds;

  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time;

  • Ability to hear with 100% accuracy with correction;

  • Ability to stand and exert well paced mobility for an eight (8) hour shift.

The FireLake Sous Chef will co-lead the culinary helm of the south metro's famed farm to table restaurant, managing kitchen operations and the FireLake kitchen staff. Specific duties include: Participating in the development and implementation of business strategies for FireLake * Assisting the Executive Chef in managing to meet financial and guest satisfaction goals * Participating in restaurant menu development, private dining events and marketing promotions * Developing and implementing strategies for achieving restaurant sales goals * Ensuring quality and consistency in the preparation and presentation of menu items * Conducting food inventory and ensuring orders meet the demand of restaurant outlets Managing the FireLake kitchen operation * Completing assigned FireLake kitchen projects in a timely and professional manner * Ensuring that proper sanitation practices and documentation are followed to meet or exceed food safety guidelines * Scheduling FireLake kitchen staff based upon forecasted volumes * Demonstrating a professional attitude in all interactions with guests, hotel staff, and vendors * Clarifying customer requirements and suggestions Supporting Food & Beverage Outlets * Working closely with Executive Chef and Restaurant GM to ensure success in Room Service and FireLake * Coordinating the training for the FireLake kitchen staff * Planning, organizing and executing timely preparation of Private Dining Room events * Managing food delivery, kitchen staffing, and setup of food preparation stations for off-site restaurant events Creating 100% guest satisfaction by providing the FireLake experience through performance that demonstrates the standards of genuine hospitality and exceeding guest expectations. * Providing employees with the training and resources they need to maximize employee engagement and deliver Yes I Can! Service and teamwork * Communicating and reinforcing the vision for Yes I Can! service to employees REQUIREMENTS: * Vetted experience as a Sous Chef/ Restaurant Chef or equivalent role * Previous supervisory experience required * Previous culinary management experience in high volume fine dining * Minimum 2 year culinary degree required, three – four year degree preferred * Ability to resolve conflicts with guests, supervisor and employee * Ability to collaborate effectively with other hotel employees and managers to ensure teamwork * Excellent multitasking skills * Basic computer skills required * Extensive knowledge of menu development, knowledge of both international and domestic dishes PHYSICAL DEMANDS: * Ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis * Ability to push and pull carts weighing up to 200 pounds occasionally * Ability to stand for extended periods of time * Ability to work in extreme conditions like freezers and kitchens Radisson Hotel Group Bloomington MN
