As Banquet Set-Up, you will

  • Set up and break down event space, ensuring set up according to Banquet Event Order, guest needs are attended to, and public spaces are tidied throughout the event.

  • Do your part to help the event shine by vacuuming floors, cleaning walls, windows and mirrors in event space and surrounding public areas. Ensure supplies are available according to the Banquet Event Order and equipment is set up and functioning properly. Periodically tidy the space, clearing away dishes, straightening furnishings, and refreshing soiled linen throughout the event.

  • Keep track of event supplies, equipment and carefully store furnishings when not in use, promptly reporting repair and maintenance needs.

  • Pitch in to help with banquet service and attend to guest needs and special requests with prompt "can-do" courtesy.

Fundamentals

A high school education or equivalent is required, with three months food service or hospitality experience helpful. Basic math and English written and verbal communication skills is required. This position requires full mobility, continuous movement and heavy lifting, up to 100 pounds occasionally and up to 50 pounds frequently (moving furniture, equipment, staging, etc.)

With banquet captain, ensure all banquet events are set up according to EO specifications service. The utilty person moves all Tables Chairs and Linens for each event as well as setting up audio visual equipment when required. The utility person also provides service during events through the captain as well as with guest interaction. The utility person is responsible for the care and maintenance of banquet areas and equipment. Supervisory Responsibilities: * None Travel Required: * Local only Experience / Education / Certifications: * Minimum 1 year Banquet set up experience in 4 diamond hotel or equivalent - required * TIPS training and GFSF certification preferred or attained within 30 days - required Essential Duties / Tasks / Responsibilities: Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 80% Operations * Responsible for setting up and taking down tables, chairs and other furniture as needed for banquet events. * Obtaining the proper linen and draping tables as necessary. * Clean and dust any banquet furnishings as needed. * Assist with tear-down of food beverage stations as needed. * Sets tables with silverware and glassware. * Vacuums rugs. * Replaces soiled table linens. * Carries dirty dishes from dining room to kitchen. A * ssists in performing cleaning duties for banquets and conference spaces and equipment. 10% Communication * Attend all company mandated training meetings as well as monthly meetings for Banquet Grand performers 10% Maintenance * Assists in maintaining banquet spaces and equipment as directed by Banquet Captain Knowledge / Skills / Abilities (KSA's) * Knowledge of Banquet service Standards * Able to lift and carry 60 lbs regularly * Ability to read floor diagrams to determine proper layout of banquet room Kessler Grand Performer Attributes G.U.E.S.T.
