Banquet Captain will be responsible for ensuring the proper setup and execution of meetings, banquets and special events scheduled within the hotel. This includes both the ability to work functions independently as well as direct staff in the execution of larger events. The Banquet Captain should be familiar with setup procedures, food presentation for all types of service, serving, and clean up/tear down of events.
Specific duties would include:
-assist in recruiting both full time, part time, and on call banquet staff as needed
-training and coaching banquet staff to ensure exceptional service
-ability to set up space and / or inspect space set by team with details from Function agreement supplied by sales team
-participation in scheduled BEO review meeting directed by Director of Sales / Catering Manager
-inspection of servers to ensure appropriate attire for scheduled event
Requirements
-Knowledge of catering / banquet terminology and procedures
-Minimum 3 years service in catering / banquet service (specific hotel catering preferred)
-Knowledge of basic audio / visual
-Ability to show progressive growth and leadership potential in job history
-Flexibility with work schedule
