As a Processor in our Bankruptcy department, you will provide support to our attorneys as they represent lenders, banks, mortgage servicers, landlords, and all creditors, regardless of size, in all three North Carolina bankruptcy districts. We work to protect our clients' interests through every step of the bankruptcy process, including chapters 11,12 and 13.

  • Process referrals in case management software
  • Draft filing for proof of claim, reaffirmation agreements and motions of relief for attorney review
  • Assign case numbers
  • Run conflict searches
  • Request files from other departments as needed
  • Maintain the physical file (print labels; attach lender specific stickers, etc.)
  • Set up new referral in case management software.
  • Organize referrals for searches.
  • Any clerical tasks as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 0-3 years of experience in lender bankruptcy processing or other processing related work in the legal field.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • 4-7 years of experience in lender bankruptcy processing or other processing related work in the legal field.
  • Title search experience preferred.
  • Experience with Simplifile, PACER, SCRA and other electronic databases a plus!

Work Environment

This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files (up to 15 lbs), open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary, operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
