JOB SUMMARY:

Supports the strategic product planning function responsible for developing long-term strategic objectives for the Banking and Payments organization. Tracks the competition, and assists in identifying threats or opportunities. Analyzes issues that affect profitability and growth. Identifies, researches, and evaluates new product opportunities and market initiatives. Assists in developing and communicating strategic product plans.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the development of long term product strategies that align with market drivers and industry trends for the Banking and Payments division.

  • Evaluate market trends and competitive positioning.

  • Assist in researching and evaluating new product opportunities by analyzing complex market problems and issues using data from internal and external sources.

  • Bring expertise or engage subject matter experts in support of multi-functional efforts to produce 18 month to 3 year product strategies.

  • Collaborate with business line General Managers, Product Development, Enterprise and International teams to ensure cohesive product strategies.

  • Assist in developing Product messaging.

  • Assist in overseeing the investment prioritization process, documents and presentations.

  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

A Bachelor's degree in business, management, marketing, finance or other related discipline.

GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Thorough knowledge of products and services in assigned business lines(s)

  • In-depth financial services/payments industry knowledge

  • Knowledge of banking practices, regulations and operations within assigned business line(s)

  • Knowledge of standards relevant to the software industry (e.g., ISO, Six Sigma, CMM)

  • Knowledge of end-to-end systems development life cycles (e.g., agile, iterative, waterfall)

  • General business skills, financial management and planning skills, long-term vision, and executive presence

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization (e.g., executive, management, individual contributors)

  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, team, and time management skills

  • Ability to persuade and influence others on the best approach to take

  • Ability to understand and focus on clients' needs, establish credibility and build positive, professional relationships with clients

  • Project management skills; ability to prioritize and complete tasks

  • Requires leadership and negotiation skills

Entry level managerial role - manages the coordination of activities for multiple product strategies. Receives assignments in the form of objectives and works under moderate supervision with moderate latitude for independent judgment. Follows established processes and best practices in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Supports team members in meeting schedules and/or resolving problems. Develops and administers schedules, performance requirements, and may have budget/financial analysis responsibilities. Typically requires a minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in the financial services industry.

The role of the product manager spans many activities from strategic to tactical and provides cross-functional leadership—bridging gaps within the company between different functions, especially between development, sales and marketing, and support.</p> <p>The product manager is the person responsible for defining the ‘why,’ ‘what,’ and ‘when’ of the product that the development team will build. You are the director of the product -- which means you will lead cross-functional teams from a product's conception through to its launch.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><p></p><ul> <li>Develop, design, and implement Finexio’s 3-year term product strategy in partnership with leadership by possessing a deep understanding of the current state of b2b payments landscape and where it is headed</li> <li>Drive Lifecycle management of all products from concept to end-of-life</li> <li>Influence operations, program design and feature roadmaps across all Finexio products by understanding KPIs, features &amp; overall product &amp; giving critical feedback on a regular basis</li> <li>Create user stories and scenarios </li> <li>Direct and approve UI/UX activities </li> <li>Define acceptance criteria, KPIs and SLAs </li> <li>Establishes realistic time schedules with Engineering for completion of the various parts of the approved programs, then tracks and publishes schedules on a regular basis.</li> <li>Calls on customers to obtain market data and to support the knowledge and ability of the sales team as it pertains to the product line. </li> <li>Collaborates with sales to establish long-term sales forecasts for our products</li> <li>Determines strategic product line decisions by evaluating competitor’s products, market share and market trends, and informs others by maintaining and distributing competitive comparisons and evaluations.</li> <li>Work with the sales and operations organizations to make the platform and products are implementable and deliverable </li> <li>Define and support implementation of training, support and deployment requirements </li> <li>Manage risks and resolves issues that affect release scope, schedule and quality </li> <li>Coordinate overall release project and schedule </li> <li>Facilitate sales and channel training </li> <li>Assist pre-sales with custom project requests </li> <li>Scale the product team by attracting, retaining, and mentoring strong talent across all key areas of product, engineering, and data</li> <li>Build strong professional relationships with other members of the senior management team and ensure operational excellence in implementing the product and engineering roadmaps</li> </ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Can demonstrate excellent communication skills making complex technical concepts/solutions easy to grasp, using written and visual documentation</li> <li>Highly analytical, data-driven mindset; holds self and others accountable with measurable ROI-oriented KPIs</li> <li>Strong communication and writing skills, with experience preparing and presenting presentations to various stakeholders.
