As a Banker, you will focus on building long term relationships with our customers to understand their financial needs and provide suggestions regarding products and services. In addition to meeting sales and referral goals, you will also be required to refer customers to business partners in other areas of the bank. Our Bankers develop and maintain strong relationships with Peoples United Bank business partners to maximize customer solutions. You will resolve difficult customer situations while maintaining professionalism and friendly customer service. As a Banker, you will be rewarded for your success with bonus incentives in addition to your base salary.

Traditional Branch schedules typically fall between 8am-6pm Monday- Friday with rotating Saturday hours. Branches with extended hours, schedules typically fall between 930am-730pm Monday- Friday with Saturday and Sunday hours. Schedule may change based on business need.

Job Requirements

  • Previous success selling/upselling products and or services in a goal driven environment

  • 1+ years of customer service and sales experience

  • Prior banking experience preferred

  • Strong understanding of financial products and services

  • Ability to utilize advanced branch technology including tablets, "super" ATMs and other systems effectively and engage and educate customers in using them

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent listening skills

  • Impeccable attention to detail and the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information

  • Demonstrate ability to provide solutions for complex customer related issues

  • High energy; proven ability to effectively multi-task in a fast paced environment

  • High School diploma or equivalency preferred, and college degree a plus

Working in collaboration with Senior Officers, assists in the development of annual sales strategy and plan to achieve goals that include new sales, cross-sell and retention goals. Assists Senior Officers in the development of profitable Government Banking deposit, lending and fee income portfolio in the Region, and managing the portfolio of Government Banking customers whose needs are extensive and complex due to the customer relationship, nature of the business and products or size of the loan. Assists Senior Officers in the management of Request for Proposal (RFP) Process in Region to ensure the greatest opportunity of success. Analyzes requests and negotiates rates and fees. Ensures information provided is accurate and comprehensive. Maintains and develops a network of professional contacts and Centers of Influence to expand the organization's financial services relationships. Represents the organization at various external functions and events. Keeps informed of current developments through participation in treasury, payments, and business services forums and industry conferences, trade functions, as well as industry networking events. Adheres to compliance procedures and internal/operational risk controls in accordance with any and all applicable regulatory standards, requirements, and policies. Employment Type Full Time Job Requirements College degree or equivalent experience required. 5-8 years relevant experience. Formal Credit Training is a plus. Demonstrate strong collaborative skills working with Senior Officers to plan, and manage the Government Banking Portfolio. Successful in developing department strategies and goals aligned with corporate goals and objectives with regard to budgets, client services, products, pricing and profitability. Demonstrate theoretical and practical levels of knowledge and expertise in Federal Reserve regulations, policies and procedures, check processing, float and availability. Exhibit excellent professionalism and presence demonstrated by ability to work with all levels of senior management; ability to lead and influence multiple audiences, within and outside the organization; and ability to cultivate and foster strong relationships with internal and external clients. Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills are necessary to interact effectively with internal and external clients. Ability to evaluate, analyze and quantify the financial impact of business decisions. Exhibit great attention to detail in all work results.
