Job Description: Roseville Area Schools has a vacancy for a middle school band director and instrumental music teacher at Roseville Area Middle School. This is a 1.0 FTE position starting August 26, 2024.

Roseville Area Schools is a district just north of the Twin Cities which serves over 7,500 students. Approximately 850 students are enrolled at Roseville Area Middle School with 200 students in band.

Duties include teaching/directing four school concert bands and teaching school band lessons. Extra-curricular directing duties include jazz ensembles.

Qualifications:

• A MN Teaching License in Instrumental Music

• Band is required

• Commitment to an equitable and inclusive education experience

• Demonstrated understanding of cultural competence

• Qualified applicants will possess the desire and ability to collaborate with other staff members in the music department to continue an already strong program. Must have understanding of brass, woodwind and percussion techniques.
  
  Must have experience with a secondary band program, familiarity with current teaching/learning theories for band, must understand and teach to the individual learning needs of both high school and middle school students, and must possess an ability to sustain a positive learning environment. Experience working with a diverse population is desired.

Compensation: Minimum full year, full time starting salary is $49,171, plus a district contribution toward health and dental insurance.
