POSITION: Band Director

SUPERVISOR: Dean of the School of Creative and Media Arts

DEPARTMENT: School of Creative and Media Arts

Tiffin University (TU) was founded in 1888 and offers accredited undergraduate and graduate degrees in business administration, criminal justice, social sciences, creative and media arts, humanities, education, sciences, technology, and health. The University's campus in Tiffin, Ohio, blends traditional historic and modern buildings, creating a vibrant and welcoming educational community for its students, faculty, and staff.

Students can pursue associate, undergraduate, and graduate programs both on campus and online, as well as at Terra State Community College. In addition, TU offers Bachelor in Business Administration and Master of Business Administration degrees in Bucharest, Romania, and educational opportunities for students from Switzerland and Latin America. The University also provides an online Ph.D. program in Global Leadership and Change.

The main campus in Tiffin is a beautiful 153-acre blend of traditional historic and modern buildings that create a vibrant and warm home for an educational community. We offer undergraduate and graduate degrees in business in Bucharest, Romania. From academic programs in sports and recreation management to homeland security/terrorism, communication, and management, TU offers more than 40 majors through on-campus and online learning that result in real advantages for our students.

Tiffin University's School of Creative & Media Arts houses the cutting-edge Commercial Music program, designed from the ground up to give students experience in training across all areas that are vital to success as a professional musician -- music production, performance, writing, and business. The School also offers students a wide range of interdisciplinary, co-curricular and extracurricular activities across arts and communication areas.

The School also houses a cutting-edge Digital Media degree program, which includes professional tracks in a variety of multimedia production and content creation fields, including Video Production, Photography & Design, Digital Storytelling, Sports Media, Strategic Communication, and Audio Production. Faculty and staff within the School have a wide range of advanced professional experience in their disciplines.

Tiffin University's bachelor's degree in Commercial Music strives to develop in students a deep knowledge in areas necessary for success as a professional musician: comprehensive musicianship (keyboard harmony, aural skills, and writing & arranging), music technology, and music entrepreneurship. All students also get practical training on piano, guitar, bass and drums, playing in a variety of commercial styles.

In support of their own unique career paths in professional music, students may pursue advanced study within professional tracks in Studio Production, Songwriting, Performance & Teaching, and Studio Writing. Students can receive individual instruction as a vocalist, pianist, guitarist, bassist, percussionist, songwriter, beatmaker or producer, as well as support of their own independent projects. All commercial music students have access to TU's pro recording studio, and participate in commercial music ensembles specializing in funk, rock, jazz, hip hop, gospel and original music, or in the areas of concert production and media production.

The degree's Creative Core also includes required coursework in digital media and design, providing students with diverse resources to support their entrepreneurial music endeavors. The program also gives students a variety of hands-on opportunities both inside the classroom and in conjunction with diverse extracurricular and co-curricular activities for which students receive scholarship support.
