Summary

Perform a variety of nonprofessional nursing duties in the direct care of patients under the supervision of an RN/LPN.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients, equipment and supplies for specific procedures and provide manual assistance as required.
  • Obtain and record patient data for medical records noting and informing RN/LPN of information collected.
  • Administer treatment and personal care procedures to patients including, but not limited to, feeding, bathing, shaving, changing clothing, cleaning bed-making, assisting with ambulation, enemas, skin care, and bowel and bladder elimination; provide such additional care as required to meet the personal needs and comfort of assigned patients.
  • Scheduling and Transportation to Appointments; transportations and errand services; providing life-enhancing activities meal planning; preparations and grocery shopping; medication reminders; light housekeeping and laundry for personal care watering plants; taking care of pets; other home needs; assist physician and nurses with physical examinations by helping position patients, changing non-sterile dressing and weighing patients.
  • Note and reports any changes in patient's condition to the RN or LPN.
  • Take and records vital signs, record I&O applies ice bags, administer douches and enemas.
  • Turn and position patients, set up and feed patients as necessary, provide patients with fresh drinking water.
  • Perform finger sticks for blood glucose testing with appropriate training.
  • Assist with admission, discharge, and transportation of patients.
  • Follow standard precautions and use personal protective equipment as required.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
  • Collect, deliver and conduct routine tests on patient specimens.
  • Clean assigned area; stock and replenish supplies and equipment as required.
  • Participate in own professional development by maintaining required skills validation and attending educational offerings. Supports the development of other staff and formal learners.

Education

CNA with and med tech experience

Experience

A minimum of 1-year experience preferred.

Degrees, Licensure, and/or Certification

Current Certified Nursing Assistant Certificate of Completion

CPR and First Aid Card

Certified Medication Technician

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of procedures and techniques involved in administering routine and special treatments and medications to patients.
  • Working knowledge of sanitation, personal hygiene and basic health and safety precautions applicable to work in a hospital
  • Working knowledge of infection control procedures and safety precautions
  • Able to withstand prolonged standing and walking with the ability to move or lift at least 50 pounds
  • Ability to understand English and follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to document and communicate pertinent information
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and hospital staff

VIEW JOBS 11/16/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-14T00:00 Class Description THIS IS A NON CIVIL SERVICE POSITION NETWORK ENGINEER The Baltimore City Office of Information and Technology (BCIT) is seeking a CONTRACTUAL Network Engineer to responsible for analyzing, designing, installing, configuring, maintaining and repairing of network infrastructure and application components. A Network Engineer performs a wide variety of network services ranging from evaluation, maintenance, installation and training tasks to ensure the computer network performance meets BCIT client and stakeholder satisfaction. A Network Engineer also provides direction, information, and recommendations regarding network configurations and installations. Candidates should have an equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline with four years of network engineering experience. The Contractual Network Engineer will: * Maintain network devices security through proper configuration Cisco switches and routers * Establish networking environment by designing system configuration, direct installation, define, document, and enforce network standards * The design and implementation of new solutions and improving the resilience of the current networking environment * Maximize network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshoot network problems and outages, schedule upgrades and collaborate with network architects on network optimization * Undertake data network fault investigations in local and wide area environments, using information from multiple sources * Secure network system by establishing and enforcing policies, and define and monitor access * Provide support and administration of firewall environments in line with IT security policy * Report network operational status by gathering, prioritizing information and managing customer projects * Support the network Lead Architect with the design of the core network * Upgrade data network equipment to latest stable firmware releases * The configuration of routing and switching equipment * The configuration of hosted IP voice services and Wi-Fi access points * The basic configuration of firewall ACL rule and policies. Understand VLANS and subnetting * Remote support of onsite engineers and end users/customers during installation * Remote troubleshooting and fault finding if issues occur REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: * Four (4) year college degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university or equivalent. * Four (7) years of network engineering work experience. * Current CCNA and/or CCDA certification or higher. * Knowledge of VoIP implementation and support. * Knowledge of Mitel IP systems configuration for Voice VLANs * Knowledge of Windows Server 2008 & 2012 and 2016 DNS, DHCP experience is a plus. * Must consistently demonstrate the ability to follow instructions. * Must consistently demonstrate excellent communications skills – both verbal and written. * Must consistently demonstrate the ability to be/remain self-motivated, pay attention to detail, and meet deadlines. * Must consistently demonstrate the ability to maintain effective working relationships with personnel from various City Agencies, other BCIT staff, and vendors. * Must consistently demonstrate the ability to engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously, while working independently at times.
