Ballet Instructor (Bitter Lake Community Center)
If you have a knowledge and understanding of Ballet fundamentals and passion for and experience teaching, Associated Recreation Council (ARC) has a role for you as a Ballet Instructor at Bitter Lake Community Center. This is a seasonal part-time role starting from mid-April 2024. There are multiple opportunities to extend.
ARC, in partnership with Seattle Parks and Recreation, serves Seattle by offering access to licensed childcare and a variety of recreational and lifelong learning programs, classes, and activities. In this role, the Ballet Instructor at Bitter Lake Community Center will lead participants through 30-minute lessons. The class's objectives are to strengthen bodies and minds and provide a safe and positive environment for children to express themselves.
Schedule:
Creative dance (3-4 yrs old), pre-ballet (5-6 yrs old), and ballet 1 (6-8 yrs old) on Saturdays running from 11am
Start Date: 4/20/2024
Ballet Instructor duties and responsibilities include:
Develop and deliver developmentally appropriate class lesson plans for cohorts. Instructors are expected to plan their weekly dance lessons.
Plan, lead and implement age-appropriate lessons for ballet classes, focusing on strengthening minds and bodies, introductory skills, fine motor development, and dance appreciation.
Instructors are expected to set up and clean up the space before and after each weekly lesson.
Complete required administrative reports, such as attendance sheets and accident reports.
Ballet Instructor requirements include:
Must be 18 years of age.
Experience working with children
Experience teaching ballet.
Must pass a WSP criminal background check.
