The Role
Special Team Lead Bakery
Responsibilities
Dom's Kitchen & Market Special Team Lead Bakery will assist the Special Team Captain Bakery with total Bakery responsibility that merges your love for people - both team members and guests - with operational excellence. You will be:
Expected in the absence of the Special Team Captain Bakery to lead the Bakery operation
Measured and rewarded by your ability to assist with delivering Talk of the Town Guest Service, drive optimal Bakery teams' performance, maintain Bakery operations, achieve financial sales and profit targets
Accountable for the extraordinary experience of your team and your guests
Responsible for engaging conversations with guests and ensure each guest receives an extraordinary Talk of the Town guest experience
Focused on driving sales through technical expertise, industry knowledge and innovative merchandising
Expected to assist with successfully training, developing, retaining, mentoring and motivating Dom's Kitchen & Market first-class Bakery team leading to inspired Bakery teamwork creating an inviting atmosphere for guests
Assist with work duties across the Bakery department including cross-training of team members
Challenge Bakery team daily to provide world class FRESH conditions and presentations including Quality, In-Stock, In-Code, product rotation, temperature checks, accurate labeling, scale accuracy
Accountable to support scheduling for the Bakery team for maximum productivity and high standards of quality that align to business needs and budgeted labor goals
Execute in absence of Bakery Captain for appropriate sales forecasting, planning, ordering, sales floor inventory levels
Assist in ensuring that recipes are followed, food production, food prep is technically accurate within budgeted ingredient cost goals, follow controls to minimize food and supply waste and appropriate repurposing of food waste
Aid with receiving of product, invoice accuracy, vendor commitments, vendor backstock
Accountable for backroom, cooler and freezer logistics including minimal inventory levels, freshness dates and organization of product and supplies
Maintain the high standards of Food Safety and Sanitation at all times throughout Bakery sales floor, cooler, freezer and backroom including regular cleaning and maintenance of equipment, tables, cases and shelves with organization and sanitation of all backrooms, food prep areas and supplies
Listening for the Voice of the Guest to identify Bakery department trends for guest needs and expectations and counsel with Coaching Assistant to integrate findings to deliver value and accelerate growth

Qualifications
3+ years' leader experience in Bakery retail, specialty, hospitality or restaurant
4 year college degree, culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred
Food Safety Certification preferred
Excellent communication, organizational and planning skills
Strong cognitive skills, including problem analysis, decision making and financial analysis
Advanced computer skills
Sense of urgency, time management, prioritization and multitasking skills
Detail oriented
Ability to maintain composure, meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Available to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays
Availability must reflect the needs of the business, which may change from time to time
Strong sense of team - desire to WIN together with a first-class team!
Full Time Position
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Must be able to perform the following physical activities regularly: Walking, standing, kneeling, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions
Walking/Standing 90% and sitting 10% of day
Frequent movement within the store to access various departments, areas and/or products
Physically able to exert up to 50 pounds of force often and exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
Occasional exposure to extreme temperatures - walk-in coolers and freezers
Exposure to chemicals and cleaning products
Operating equipment (baler, compactor, power jack, slicer, oven, knives, cutting tools)
