Job Title: Bakery Specialist

FLSA Status: Salary

Reports To: Bakery Assistant Director

Guests at Festival expect the highest quality and freshest Bakery items in the Midwest and skilled associates with the expertise to answer their Bakery questions. It's our Bakery leaders and associates that make that happen for guests each day. The Bakery Specialist travels our stores throughout Wisconsin to lead and develop Bakery Department Managers with an empowered problem-solving approach.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and develop a team of department managers across assigned company store locations.

  • Assist in the development and execution of training tools and programs.

  • Assist in the development of new items.

  • Assist in the development and the execution of standards for associate performance, guest service, and in-store merchandising.

  • Monitor the department to ensure all safety standards are being met.

  • Manage every day and seasonal assortments of products for all store locations.

  • Manage the department's overall profitability to ensure it aligns with annual operating plan and adjust as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, quantitative analysis, resource allocation, human resources, leadership techniques, coordination of people and resources.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills including verbal communication, listening, negotiation, problem solving, decision making, and being assertive.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; Excel, Word, Outlook, OneNote.

  • Proficient in Servant Leadership practices.

  • Monitoring and assessing performance of self, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

The physical demands and work environment described below are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

  • Spend 90% in stores being hands on with the Bakery Departments, standing in place for long periods of time; walking in the store; bending, stooping and kneeling regularly.

  • Remainder of time spent in an office environment.

WORK SCHEDULE

The Bakery Specialist is a salaried position. The work schedule will include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

  • Ability to travel within the state of WI, up to 90% of the time.

  • Supporting a 24/7 business operation, weekends are considered part of the work week as scheduled.

Execute the boomerang theory by providing exceptional service to all guests. Creativity in the form of food is the name of the game in our Bakery; Festival's bakery associates are here to enhance the special moments and occasions in our guest's lives by providing a fun & fresh bakery assortment. Job Description ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Provides excellent services to all guests * Assists guests with finding items they are looking for * Takes orders for cakes and other special requests * Packages and prices items from the service case * Answers the telephone and assists guests using proper phone etiquette * Packages prepared products * Reduces shrink by using the appropriate packaging and filling each package with the correct quantity of product * Ensures accurate pricing by placing the corresponding price and ingredient labels on each package * Fills, rotates, and removes products from the sales floor * Identifies which products are at an unacceptable stock level and replenishes them with available supply * Maintains freshness by filling newer products to the back/bottom of the display and ensuring that closer dated products are sold first, as well as removing products that are outdated, stale, or otherwise unacceptable to make available for sale * Maintains adequate level of supplies by replenishing packaging and other items as needed * Contributes to overall cleanliness of the department by picking up, organizing, and cleaning work areas, shelving, and sales floor as needed * Required to maintain food safety logs * Ensure all quality standards are being met, including quantity expectations at 100% by 10 am and 5 pm * Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences * Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily.
