Position Summary:

Plan, organize, train, and direct Bakery Department associates; perform production and customer service functions; maximize store sales and profits Role model and demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety of others.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Train and schedule employees to provide prompt courteous service.

  • Respond promptly, tactfully, calmly, courteously, and professionally to customer or associate comments, complaints, requests, accidents, and questions.

  • Use Computer Assisted Ordering to manage ordering appropriate quantities of merchandise and supplies, and insure proper accounting of product received and balance on hand.

  • Perform and direct others in pricing, displaying of merchandise, proper signage, product rotation, freshness, quantity and quality.

  • Prepare bakery items including cakes, tortillas, pastries, cookies by shaping/forming, baking, and decorating.

  • Maintain display kiosks around bakery by stocking product, rotating product, and marking product with prices.

  • Clean and maintain work area.

  • Engage yourself and counsel associates in effective, productive merchandising techniques, customer services, product presentation, and promotional activities.

  • Implement company programs and adhere to company policies and procedures, particularly in the area of the maintenance of a work environment free of unlawful harassment or discrimination.

  • Provide input on department budgets, goals, and results and maximize department and store sales and profits.

  • Maintain equipment and facilities properly and safely in accordance with company policies and procedures.

  • Assist on special projects such as periodic inventories, store resets, remodels, catering, weddings, and events.

  • Respond to any emergency situations that may arise at the store location during or outside of regularly scheduled working hours. Receive phone calls and/or report to work when necessary to effectively resolve the emergency.

  • Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports.

  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Bakery work experience and/or backup manager experience.

  • Past work record reflects dependability and integrity.

  • Understanding of all key components of department operations

  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to employment practices, safety, and food handling.

Trainer of Trainers Since you are the first to learn new bakery products and are responsible for the successful implementation in the bakery-cafes, it is essential that you communicate effectively so that standards will be understood, and executed in every aspect. Quality Assurance Manager You will convey and enforce the standards of quality at the heart of Panera products through effective training. Proactively assess and determine issues and provide solutions that ensure Panera Bread is special and remains the Bread Leader. Responsibilities: * Be a role model for friendly, courteous interactions with other bakers, customers, associates, and management team. * Work well with the BMM, other BTSs, Certified Baker Trainers (CBTs), Baker Trainees, MITs and bakery-cafe management and associates. * Foster an environment encouraging teamwork and productive training.
