Baptist Health is looking to add a Baker Act Coordinator at Baptist Medical Center in Downtown Jacksonville. This is a Full Time Days opportunity. The schedule will be M-F 8 AM - 4:30 PM, no call. Prior experience in the psychiatric filed is required for this role.

As a Baker Act Coordinator you will be responsible for:

• Overall management and monitoring of all Baker Acts (BA) and Marchman Acts in the Baptist Health System.

• Responsible for developing and implementing a workflow process inclusive of coordination of activities and tasks between providers, nursing, patients healthcare surrogates/guardian advocates (HCS/GA) and the Court system.

• Responsible for tracking patient throughout the Baptist Health System to ensure compliance with BA Law.

• Monitor 12 hour medical clearance, assist with the coordination of transfers from medical floors and emergency rooms, and function as the primary contact and education liaison with HCS/GA.

• Coordinate the completion and filing of various petitions with the Court system, act as coordinator of court hearings between psychiatry, Public Defender, State Attorney, Magistrate, and patient's HCS/GA, and assist with the completion of State Hospital packets for all patients petitioned to be transferred to a State Hospital facility.
