Purity Dairies, a DFA company, is seeking a Bagger/Debagger to work in our Nashville Plant.

  • Starting Rate: $18.00 per hour

Health and Welfare benefits begin the 1st day of the month following date of hire!

Paid Time Off acrrual begins the 1st day of the month following date of hire!

Shift: 1st Shift

M- 5:00am-3:15pm

Tues-Fri 7:00am-4:15pm

Off Sat/Sun

  • Some weekend work may be required*

Job Description & Requirements

  • The Bagger/Debagger is responsible for efficiently and accurately performing the duties that support activities of bagging and debagging bottles.

  • Familiarity with all applicable equipment and provide quality inspections on all related items.

  • Has working knowledge of all equipment to include all support equipment and ability to make minor adjustments and repairs using wrenches.

  • Maintain flow of production, removes defective bottles from production line and places in bin for recycling.

  • Maintain communication with other departments, management and employees and notify them of any problems and/or concerns that may restrict the efficiency of production.

  • Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible and accurate format, and completed with required information.

  • Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with SOP's.

  • Analyze process data and equipment performance data to improve quality, throughput, and troubleshoot.

  • Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.

  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.

  • Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work area.

  • Follow all required work safe practices.

  • This would include wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc.

  • Responsible for food safety, pre-requisite programs and food quality related to designated area.

  • Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Experience preferred but not required.

  • Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

  • Experience within the food and beverage industry preferred.

  • Must be able to able to stand, walk, push or pull a majority of the day.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.

  • Must be able to work in a wet environment.

  • Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends and holidays.

  • Be able to effectively work in a team environment.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.

  • Must be able to pass all pre*employment screens (including drug, background and criminal checks).

Warehouse Department Supervisor - 1st or 2nd Shift Primary Duties and Responsibilities * Provide supervision to assigned employees by training and mentoring while providing advice with regards to achieving production goals. * Provide hands on knowledge and task management to assigned employees while exhibiting experienced leadership skills during daily operations. * Provide daily work assignments to assigned employees. * Overview and enforce procedures involving record keeping, work instructions, and other standard operational and work practices. * Meet key performance metrics and/or productivity goals. * Oversee non conveyable production process and personnel to ensure work meets quality standards and is performed according to established procedures. * Implement procedures and systems to maximize non conveyable production efficiencies. * Set ambitious production goals and communicate them to assigned employees. * Provide motivation, support and guidance to assigned employees. * Communicate any problems or obstacles to Senior Manager of Non Conveyable Production. * Monitor non conveyable production to resolve issues. * Operate lift trucks, pallet jacks, and other equipment to safely move product to proper locations as needed. * Maintain a positive work environment by acting and clearly communicating in a manner to build strong relationships with assigned employees. * Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas. * Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with Essex's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities including but not limited to interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. * Meet or come in under OSHA recordables/incidents goal. * Perform miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned and required by the Senior Manager of Non Conveyable Production. Job Specifications and Qualifications* * High School or general education degree (GED).
