RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate Plant 3 and Plant 6 bagging equipment in the packaging of product. This includes pallet dispensers, powder filling machines, process magnets, product samplers, conveyors and associated support equipment.

  • Perform simultaneous sampling/filling operation. This entails sampling and closing of the bag at the check weigh station while monitoring the bag filling at the fill station.

  • Perform prescribed labeling of packaged product.

  • Perform prescribed Q. C. sampling of packaged product, which includes sample container control through QC department interaction.

  • Check weigh packaged product for accuracy. Correct any discrepancies and interpret potential machine problems associated with inaccurate fill cycles.

  • Monitor assigned area continuously for proper equipment operation and product quality. This includes monitoring the PLC logic during the filling operation and with fill cycles, magnet cleaning, sampling or conveyor operation.

  • Perform prescribed cleaning procedures. Operate the central vacuum system.

  • Complete bagging checklists and route finished paperwork to appropriate personnel.

  • Maintain work area in clean and orderly manner; observe all company safety and environmental regulations and work procedures.

  • Drive forklift for staging of packaged product. This includes removing the packaged product off of the bagging conveyor and taking to the appropriate warehouse staging location, filling up the packaging machine pallet conveyor and moving empty bags to the packaging machine.

  • Assist shipping department when needed.

  • Accepts responsibility for his or her own safety and health. Performs assigned duties in a manner that is safe and protective of the environment. Follows operating procedures to ensure a safe and environmentally protective workplace. Observes and reports all incidents and unsafe conditions. Takes an active interest in improving safety and environmental protection.

REQUIREMENTS

  • High-school education or equivalent.

  • Stable work history with industrial or chemical related work experience preferable.

  • Requires judgment in handling routine/repetitive work.

  • Ability to operate forklift.

  • Physical mobility and agility required.

  • Requires working in a rotating shift environment including weekends and holidays.

  • Requires adequate physical strength to perform the essential job tasks (for example, ability to lift

  • 50 lbs. without mechanical assistance).

  • Exposure to prolonged physical activity (for example, twelve-hour shifts).

  • Sensory faculties needed to safely perform the job duties that allow a person to react to potential or immediate hazardous conditions and to take appropriate action.

  • Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as respiratory protection, safety harness, and full protection suit as well as common protective or safety equipment including, but not limited to, safety shoes, eye protection, hand protection, hearing protection, hard hats, etc.
