Location: San Antonio, TX
Duration: 6 -12 Months Plus Long Term Contract with an option of hire
One of our clients is looking for a Splunk Engineer, focusing on Analytics and Enterprise Security.
Its a backfill position for a Security and Data Analytics team focused on Security implementation, a lot of work will be around Enterprise Security on Splunk, will be ongoing long implementation project.

Required Skills: Splunk Analytics, Enterprise Security in Splunk, Security Implementation
SKILLS:
  • 2-3 years experience designing and implementing Splunk-based best practice solutions

  • Splunk indexers, forwarders, search heads, configuration files, apps, searches, data models, dashboards, visualizations alerts and user roles

  • Ability to develop complex Splunk dashboards and visualizations using queries and simple XML

  • Splunk - large clusters XML

  • Experience in security field

  • Experience and knowledge of data tiering in Splunk is essential

  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)

  • Partner with Product Owners to develop high quality and industry best practice solutions

  • Identify and prototype innovative concepts to create opportunities and resolve challenges

  • Experience leading engineers from inception through implementation while being hands-on

  • Ability to coordinate activities with multiple teams spread across various geographical locations

  • Strong leadership and judgment in executing under tight deadlines and competing priorities

As a true Linux lover knows—Fatal Error: Found MS-Windows System -> Repartitioning Disk for Linux * Advanced/Expert knowledge of servers/computers hardware and software, DNS, and networking fundamentals (Cisco) including diagnostics with Linux tools * Strong experience with LAMP: Linux (RedHat), Apache, MySQL, and PHP * Strong experience with Storage Technology such as NFS Server, RAID Levels, SAN, NAS, DAS, NetApp, etc. * Experience Architecting and Designing complex enterprise level infrastructures * Requires approximately 5+ years working in a computer technical field, 3+ years in an enterprise server environment and 2+ years in web hosting environment * Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate technical issues to nontechnical and technical audiences * Inherent problem-solver with desire to learn and take on responsibilities * Due to the 24x7 operations of the business, Engineers will be required to provide on-call coverage overnight and on weekends and holidays Nice-To-Have Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or equivalent work experience * Technical certification including Linux+, RHCSA, RHCA, and RHCE strongly preferred Rackspace San Antonio TX
