What is Backend at Airbnb?

Homes Backend engineers are responsible for building core services and infrastructure that are the backbone of the guest and host flows. A few examples of the services include search, listing, availability, review and reservation. These services are engineered to run at scale with high reliability and low latency. As a Generalist/Backend engineer, you will be working on architecting these services to help onboard new home type such as boutique hotels.
