Requirements

divvyDOSE is looking for a Software Engineer with a passion for microservice development in Python. We're in the exciting and rapidly evolving consumer healthcare industry which requires constant innovation, evaluation, and iteration. Help us simplify and personalize the pharmacy industry for users who range from early adopters to non-tech users. As a team member you will be responsible for overall development and design of key API components for divvyDOSE services.

Typical Day:

  • Design and develop our growing suite of software, written in Python 3
  • Interface with multiple 3rd party services and APIs
  • Work with Product, other engineers and colleagues on approaches to solving our customers problems
  • Build and maintain a HIPAA compliant infrastructure
  • Build and maintain our set of microservices, many of them with serverless implementations
  • As a member of the engineering team, contribute to planning and execution efforts across our applications as needed
  • Jumping in on other parts of codebase, infrastructure as necessary
  • Having your code reviewed and participate in code reviews, standups, retros, other SCRUM activities

Required Skills:

  • A Bachelors in CS or equivalent experience
  • At least 3 years professional development experience in Python
  • Knowledge of Python web frameworks such as Django & Flask
  • Knowledge of user authentication, authorization & claim systems, like Cognito or Auth0
  • Knowledge of REST APIs
  • Ability to create database models that represent complicated business processes
  • Ability to write unit tests and debug Python software
  • Familiarity with some ORM (Object Relational Mapper) libraries
  • Familiarity with RDBMS (especially Postgres or MySQL), Document databases, and/or key-value stores
  • Bright, motivated, passionate engineers who want to work with the same and are open minded about applying the best tool for the job and solving real problems for real users

Bonus but not Required:

  • Experience with Lambda or other function-as-a-service (FaaS) solutions
  • Familiarity with microservices or serverless infrastructure
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code concepts and frameworks, such as Terraform
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, such as Jenkins or CircleCI
  • Familiarity with managed services
  • Experience with Elasticsearch (or similar technologies)
  • Experience with NewRelic, Datadog or other Application monitoring tools
  • Experience with Healthcare, HL7 or HIPAA Applications
