OneSignal is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager that will continue to enhance our highly available, scalable system architecture to support our growth of more than 6 billion notifications per day.
Our 900,000+ developers using the product send more than 6 billion notifications per day, and that number continues to grow quickly. Our clients love what we've built so far, and we're excited to work on scaling the product the support more than 10x the number of daily notifications.
As an Engineering Manager leading the OneSignal backend team, you'll be working on improving and extending our core infrastructure to support 10x growth. You will support and grow our world-class team of infrastructure and operations experts.
What you'll do:
Oversee the design and implementation of new solutions to support high growth, scale and availability
Review system infrastructure, and propose efficient scalable solutions
Designing services that give users greater power and flexibility
Evangelizing design patterns, and great development techniques
Support a team of backend/infrastructure engineers, including activities like performance reviews, 1:1s, collaborating on career growth plans
Work with our recruiting team to hire and retain top industry experts to help us reach our goals
Roll up your sleeves to write code when needed; while the ideal candidate will spend a majority of their time supporting the team, we value flexibility and a hands-on attitude
Skills and experience:
2+ years management experience and 5+ years industry software engineering experience
Experience with infrastructure and capacity planning
Solid understanding of web service architecture. To be less ambiguous, we are looking for knowledge of the following systems and how they fit together: http clients, DNS, load balancers, reverse proxies, CDNs, application servers (ex. Rails), databases, and caches.
