The Big Data Developer will work on the IRES Program supporting the Missile Defense Agency at Fort Belvoir. The developer will collaborate with business units and end-users to design, prototype, test and implement the data ingestion, cleaning, curation and stage and retrieval of data from a cloud-based big data environment. They may also provide analytic, statistical modeling, dissemination and presentation support of the Data Analytics and Reporting Services.
The developer will work with data scientists, analysts and architects from the Data Analytics and Reporting Services team to build and maintain analytic capabilities end-to-end user experience and interface lifecycle based on business functional and performance requirements.
Knowledge and

Skills:
High-school diploma and 12 years of general experience OR an associates degree and 10 years of general experience OR a bachelors degree and 8 years OR a masters degree and 6 years experience.
6 years directly-related experience, and 3 years in management or leadership roles; Experience must be in one or more of the following: Java, Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD), Cloudera, Kafka, Logstash, Redhat, SQL, JSON, C++, Python, R, C#, Ruby, Agile Methodologies, Adobe Certified Expert (ACE), metadata generation and ETL process
Must possess a CompTIA Security+ with CE or higher or be able to obtain certification within 30 days
*Must be a US citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation
Must have an active DoD Secret clearance

Desired:
Experience developing processes and training and cloud-based system architectures and related tools Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work both independently and in a fast-paced team environment
Excellent written
and verbal communications skills required. Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
Experience in large development initiatives, developing high volume database applications, data warehousing, complex shell scripting, Agile methodology and public, or private cloud experience

VIEW JOBS 11/1/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-01-30T00:00 The System Administrator will support the Integrated Research & Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract with work based in the National Capital Region supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). The System Administrator will provide Tier I/Tier II level support to Agency Executives and general customers located at Headquarters, US Missile Defense Agency on Fort Belvoir, Virginia as well as three smaller sites throughout the National Capital Region (NCR). Duties include delivering end-to-end support in accordance with IT service level agreements and ensuring all incidents are analyzed, resolved, and reported back within the promised timeframes. Must be highly self-motivated and directed with keen attention to detail; have creative problem-solving abilities; ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment; work with minimal oversight; enjoy working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Will support, as part of a team, 45 Agency Executives and 570 other customers located across multiple sites in the NCR as well as offsite. During low activity points, the System Administrator must contribute to remote work and resolution with their teammates at other work sites. Position includes software troubleshooting, assisting with minor project work such as writing white papers, executing manual desktop installations, researching problems and proactively conducting maintenance for customers as well as contributing to enterprise projects. Must be able to support any of 3-4 locations in the NCR with reasonable notice. Candidate must possess an Active Secret clearance. #cjpost Basic Requirements: A High School diploma (or GED) with 4 years of general experience and/or an Associate's degree with 2 years general experience; general experience must include 2 years of related experience in customer service, business systems, operating systems, and servers and/or experience in light programming, project management of small initiatives, and troubleshooting AND one relevant industry certification at the associate or professional level. Candidate must have a DoD Secret security clearance. Candidates must have completed and be enrolled in Continuing Education (CE) with a Security certification or other IAT level II 8570 compliant certification or above. This position may occasionally be required to work extended and/or non-prime hours. Travel may also be required. Desired: Experience using Remedy software (Action Request System).
